Good morning, and happy Sunday. I found a set similar to this, but less elaborate, in an antique store in Carson City. One of the few things that survived the move, just because it’s different. Have some exotic Turkish coffee this morning.

Good morning! Definitely an early spring day here. Still cool, and we expect rain later, but things are beginning to grow again, and the grass is greening up.

National Chia Day – seems they have nutrients, fiber and protein but taste like nothing

National Melba Toast Day – so many crispy things out there, I forget this one

National Tamale Day – I never order these

National Puppy Day – who can resist

National Chip and Dip Day – can I celebrate without eating any?

National Near Miss Day -celebrate not getting hit by a meteor

Afternoon All. It snowed off and on all day yesterday, but only for a few minutes at a time and the rain melted what managed to hit the ground. It felt really cold this morning because of the high humidity and it was in the low 30’s. It is supposed to rain today and tomorrow.

Hope your weather isn’t severe. Enjoy the day.

Stella, as you may or may not be aware, I am somewhat fascinated by Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and would love to someday take a trip up there. I often read about it, or I watch videos. Sure wish it was within reasonable driving distance for us.

Anyhow, I stumbled across this lady’s videos about buying a property up there with an old decrepit trailer for $24,000, and her efforts in making it liveable. This is part two, the first part is just pretty yucky stuff regarding the original condition of the trailer.

What interests me here is her description of the people in her small community, who came together to help her, and help her care for her seriously ill mother. She had traveled the world in search of community for herself and her son, basically, only to come to see that the real community was waiting for her at home. Made up of people who didn’t share her beliefs, and yet taught her that didn’t matter.

It’s not too long a video, and I thought you might enjoy her story and that of a small UP community. I don’t know why exactly I watched, but I’m sure glad I did.
