Well, it is still snowing, but it is all the way up to 22*. We might climb all the way to 30* later. Maybe.

Just eliminating those over 110 years old, ireceiving only minimum payments saves almost 3.5 billion dollars a year

Good mornin’, czarina! Over the years, we’ve heard stories about the horrendous computer “systems” in place with the Feds. It’s got to be one ugly looking onion. I’ll bet that with what we were going to spend on IRS agents might have revamped at least one agency system.

Czar used to come from work at his office which dealt with Federal Employees’ health insurance, complaining what a mess that the software was. It had been modified due to glitches found daily, and the repairs were glitchy, etc. Worse,, the repairs were done by graduates of a local college which had a terrible graduation rate, even when they passed even the bottom of the class. Incompetent staff were not fired, they were moved to another office where they kept their positions and pay but were not allowed to touch the software. He said the whole thing needed to be thrown out and replaced by an outside contractor.

That’s not the first time I’ve heard this.

Mornin’ Wee! That system is old, and the data probably hasn’t been looked at for fifty years.

National Random Acts of Kindness Day – a nice thing to do
National Cabbage Day – recognize and eat the humble veggie. Had some just last night

Good morning, czarina! I have a head of cabbage that I plan to use for sauerkraut.

Hi, Czarina! A shredded raw cabbage is on my lunch order today and didn’t even know it was National Cabbage Day.
Random Acts of Kindness day…
As for Presidents’ Day, I think of it like a participation trophy for incompetents when it comes to a majority of Oval Office dwellers, with a few good Presidents and a couple great. I liked it better when February 22 was a celebration of George Washington’s Birthday and Lincoln got a separate day for his birthday on the 12th. That way we got two days off if they fell on a school day.

Mornin’ All. Still snowing and the parking lot is a couple feet deep. Loki won’t even try to go out in it. And, to make matters worse, there is a porch roof that has melted/frozen again snow on it and when it warms up it leaks down on the porch. That makes a deep ice all over my end of the porch. Talk about slick as glass!!! I’m starting to wonder if the whole thing is going to cave in. I’m glad a guy is coming in a few minutes to fix a leaky faucet. I’ll find out what he says.
I saw the map of homes for sale in D.C. Looks like the whole place is for sale. Hope all those folks can find jobs coding. LOL. I do feel somewhat sorry for a lot of them, though.
Hope you all stay warm.

Good afternoon, aus! Hope your maintenance man has a solution for that leak. It certainly wouldn’t be very smart if they just ignore it.
Take care and watch your step!

LOL. He is a very industrious and nice man. It took him a couple of hours because he needed to turn off the water to the apartment and couldn’t find the shut off valve. And, he couldn’t get hold of the rental company for a while. Well, it turned out the shut off is downstairs in someone else’s apartment. Luckily the man was home and turned it off for him. There was definitely a small crack in the metal behind the faucet. But it is fixed now………and we both know where the shut off valve is.

The porch icing-up should probably go under the banner: Everything Happens For A Reason!
“…and we both know where the shut off valve is.”
Isn’t it sorta strange, though, that the builders thought it was a good idea to put the valve inside an apartment and not put up a sign indicating its location? SMH!

Do you realize how dangerously close we came to losing all of our rights?
THANK GOD for Pres. Trump!!
LikeLiked by 3 people
Yes, the U.S. left is outraged that raids are off the table against the right, though some folk are calling for President Trump’s elimination (see https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/02/alert-federal-authorities-so-called-comedian-calls-assassination/).
Germany, however, seems to be having a hard time ridding itself of their communist East Germany soul, besides their Nazi soul.
Thank God, indeed, for our President!

Hot Headed: Bald Man’s Hilarious Mountain Climb
February 13, 2025
In Jiaozuo, China, a bald man took on a freezing mountain climb and unknowingly became a walking steam machine. This can happen when your body is way warmer than the air around it, so when the water evaporates, it comes off like steam. The sight was so dramatic, he joked that it looked like he was reaching enlightenment. You’ll have to see it to believe it.
