Good mornin’, Menage! Coffee’s ready! Apparently, there are not a lot of people that realize a whole lot of avocado’s are grown in the US, and since DJT has diverted the water in CA, they can grow more of them!

Good mornin’, and happy Monday! I’m not so sure that the new guy in charge even sleeps! We had winning over the weekend and it’s being made quite clear that there’s a new sheriff in town and he’s not messing around. Here’s a coffee maker that dates back to the late 19th century and is from Vienna Austria. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Howdy, Tex,
A good cup of coffee on a Monday morning is practically a necessity to start the work week. And Vienna has a long history with coffee and coffeehouses so it should be a good one.
Thank ‘ya, kindly.

And their baked goods are also excellent! Had a wonderful cake slice at a coffee shop while doing my laundry next door in Vienna.

Good day to you, Texan. Delightful coffeemaker and nice little table, too.
Here’s a cup to go with both of them….

Did you know……..the hype about methane and cow flatulence is a bit overblown and a coupld scientists have proved it. Probably won’t convince Gates to let us have cows though.

Do we need to let the new Agriculture Department secretary know to drop the oppressive regs?

Very true, even here in Michigan. When I had my roof replaced a few years ago, I was shocked to realize that all of the workers spoke Spanish.

Mornin’ Stella! I’ve actually had experience with several roofing crews in my life (hails a lot in W. TX) – the Spanish guys were always better and faster.

^My experience with a number of them in construction around here too. When they’re good, they’re really good, and damn fast. Many of them work circles around Americans.

‘Bye-bye Miss American Pie !!!’ I hear tell that it’s the song that disc jockeys played when they wanted to take a break.

I remember this clearly, and I was only 12 years old!
On February 3, 1959, American rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and “The Big Bopper” J. P. Richardson were all killed in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, together with pilot Roger Peterson. The event became known as “The Day the Music Died” after singer-songwriter Don McLean referred to it as such in his 1971 song “American Pie”.

Good day, Czarina! A bunch of sad National Days today. But on a happy note, women physicians certainly aren’t unusual in 2025. Perhaps in their honor we can celebrate by indulging our carrot cake cravings, although not to the extent that we might need their services.

As for missing persons, within my family there have been two who went missing…up and disappeared without a trace. Both of them are male first cousins, one on my paternal side and the other on maternal. Law enforcement didn’t think there was foul play on either disappearance. Seemingly it was just a choice to leave everything behind, including family.
My father’s sister tried to find her son through the VA since he’d been in the Army during World War II. After she passed away, her granddaughter kept up the quest. The final time she contacted the VA the only information they would give was that he was listed as deceased.
The third disappearance was my dear pal Bill whom I’d met when we both worked at Universal Studios. His mail-order business went belly-up in the late 1980s and all of a sudden he was gone. I didn’t have any contacts within his family, but I did contact his ex-fiancee and other old girlfriends. Nada. I wasn’t “in love” with him but did love him as a great pal and have missed him a whole lot over the years.

Well, hope you all enjoy your warmer weather, if you are having warmer weather.

The Revolution Fights Back – Teachers’ Organizations Vow To Resist Deportations
SAM FADDIS – FEB 03, 2025
Most Americans still think teachers are supposed to teach things like reading, writing, and arithmetic. I hope to God most teachers still feel the same way. Not so within the nation’s largest teachers unions and associations, however. Those “educators” long since took on the task of transforming society and fighting the horrifying colonial settler, heteronormative, racist patriarchy that it is.

Every school/district that is found to be doing this should have federal funds pulled for a couple years, and by then the DoEd should be pared down quite a bit anyway.

Trump Cuts Off Funding to South Africa over Racial Land Confiscation
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/02/02/trump-cuts-off-funding-to-south-africa-over-racial-land-confiscation/
President Donald Trump announced Sunday that he is suspending all U.S. aid to South Africa after the latter passed a law on land expropriation, which many fear could lead to Zimbabwe-style seizures of land owned by white citizens.
The president made the surprise announcement on Truth Social, his own social media platform, on Sunday evening:
South Africa received $273 million from the U.S. in 2023, according to ForeignAssistance.gov. (Reuters puts the sum at $440 million.) That includes funding for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). South Africa also has key trade deals with the U.S.

The PEPFAR folks are upset about this. Inhumane to cut off the meds needed for life with AIDS.
No comment from the Boer (farmers) of South Africa who have been butchered for their land.
