Trump and Canadian Tariffs

We all understand why President Trump is placing tariffs on Mexico, but you might wonder why Canada is being similarly punished. This video explanation by an everyday Canadian will help you (and me) to understand.

Even the New York Time said in an article last October,

Canada has long had one of the world’s most open immigration policies. Now, faced with a growing popular backlash, it’s changing the rules.

They go on to say:

nearly three million people living in Canada have some type of temporary immigration status, with 2.2 million arriving in just the past two years, according to government statistics. Temporary residents represent 6.8 percent of the country’s total population of 41.3 million, up from 3.5 percent in 2022.

Do I believe that Canada has tightened its immigration policies, as the NYT claims? Not really. As our Canadian friend says (see video) there are tens of thousands of people who have entered Canada on temporary student visas and simply seem to have disappeared. Criminals have used Canada for activities targeting both Canada and the United States.

The only way to effect change from the USA’s perspective is to apply pressure on the Canadian government to shape up. Failing that, perhaps it will hasten a change to leaders who will.

Chrystia Freeland complained on X:

My answer?

We could say the same thing to Chrystia and her WEF friends: Act fairly towards the USA, and the USA will treat you well.

More from a Canadian spokesman on the CBC about lax visa policies, growth of criminal cartels in Canada:

Thanks to our idiotic and narcissistic Prime Dictator, Canada is a security risk to the US. Freeland pretending to speak for Canadians is ludicrous. No, we aren’t “hurt” by the tariffs. Trump hurting our fee-fees is not the problem. The problem is our own federal government has not been doing its job. All they have to do is secure the border, which they should be doing, anyhow, and this wouldn’t be an issue. If there is any sort of demand to be made in return, it would be for the US to do the same, because we have illegals, guns and drugs pouring into our side from the US, too. Working together to secure the border would be a win-win situation.

What we should be asking is, WHY does our Prime Dictator not even consider securing the border, but is instead talking “retaliation” (a ludicrous notion, considering how much destruction of Canada T2 has wrought)?

So what is happening now? T2 has shut down parliament, essentially giving him more power than ever, as this allows the Liberals to rule through the equivalent of executive orders, and the checks and balances no longer exist. T2 claims he will resign when a new party leader is chosen, and now even says that he will not run again as MP in the next election. I’ll believe that when I see it.

Meanwhile, he’s lining Carney up to be the new party leader. A guy with triple citizenship (they’ve attacked Conservative leaders for having dual citizenship) and hasn’t lived in Canada for a decade. The Prime Minister must be an MP, and if they lost in their own riding, someone who won would “volunteer” to step aside so the party leader could be MP in their riding, instead.

So if Carney gets appointed, he won’t be an MP, which is against our rules, but all it would take to fix that is for an elected Liberal MP to step aside for him.

They are already using Trump to set the stage to prevent an election. There was no need to shut down parliament so the Liberals could have a leadership race. We could have had an election this month, if he hadn’t shut down Parliament. We don’t vote for our PM directly. We elect MPs, and the PM is leader of the party that has the most winning MPs – which would be the Conservative Party if we had an election right now.

However, they are trying to say that, with Trump being a “bully”, when Parliament resumes (if it’s allowed to resume), having an election and a change of leadership right now would be a bad idea. If they manage to accomplish avoiding a non-confidence vote (and the NDP are already backtracking and suggesting they would support the Liberals because of Trump), that means that we might not have an election until September, 2026. We have fixed election dates, but there are work arounds. Because T2 called an early election during the illegal lockdowns, next election could be a maximum of 5 years from the last election, even though it’s supposed to be every 4 years. We should be having one this October, if a non-confidence vote failed.

T2 and his cronies are playing games with Canadian lives and livelihoods, and blaming Trump. They are feeding the anti-Trump narrative and repeating the same lies and BS the US media and leftists spew about him. They are deliberately trying to push hatred against Trump, the US and conservatives. This includes Jagmeet Singh, leader of the NDP, posting a disgusting clip of him self starting to tear a red piece of cloth, only for it to cut to the scene from The Sound of Music, where a Nazi flag is being torn in half.

Trump has every reason to act against Canada, because our “leaders” are stupid-dangerous to the US, and Canadians.
