Good mornin’, and happy Saturday. Seems to be quite a bit of house-cleaning going on in Swamp Town! Hopefully they’ll be cleaning the carpets and replacing the drapes while they’re at it. A little different them this morning as I found this Royal Doulton model and I’m sharing it because it’s something classy to make us feel special. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

National Dark Chocolate Day – improved with the addition of milk and sugar…

National Get Up Day – like from a fall or error…

National Texas Day – know anyone living there?!?!?

Ice Cream for Breakfast Day – this should be an option everyday

National Serpent Day – only for special people. Not everyone has good feelings for snakes.

National Baked Alaska Day – a fancy dessert, but I never cared for meringue

National Play Outside Day – first Saturday of every month

Sec. Hegseth is shaking things up at the Pentagon. They are beginning a press rotation where new media are given some office space and legacy media are having to make other arrangements. Out for ’25 – NBC, NPR, NY Times and Politico. In – OANN, Breitbart, NY Post and HuffPost.

I think it has been that way for a long time. Whether it’s wise or not is a matter of opinion. Remember Donald Rumsfeld’s frequent press briefings? I rather welcome their return.

To me, Donald Rumsfeld was one of those persons that you don’t have to agree with in order to like. Charming, magnetic, intelligent, knowledgeable, confident, great conversationalist and writer, too.

            I love his famous saying…

“There are known knowns; there are things we know that we know.

There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that we now know we don’t know.

But there are also unknown unknowns–there are things we do not know we don’t know.”

He was just riffing on sayings by Socrates and Confucius, yet a lot of folks gave him immense flack. Apparently they didn’t know what they didn’t know.

Of course CNN labels the replacement organizations as “pro Trump”, but neglects to mention that NBC etc. are anti-Trump.

Afternoon All. Never did get any snow. It just got too warm and stayed too warm. It was raining very lightly when we went to bed last night and there are puddles everywhere. The sun is peeking out of the clouds and I can see the lake through the trees now. Actually a beautiful picture. It appears that that winter storm went slightly to the south of us and we just got the edge of it.

Well, hope you weekend weather is nice.

RFK’s MAHA Army Descends On DC — From Left, Right And Center

    https://dailycaller.com/2025/01/31/rfk-supporters-dc-senate-confirmation-hearing-maha/

Scores of green beanies lined the halls of the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Thursday.

The forest green hats with white lettering adorned the heads of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s impassioned supporters, there to lend their energy to his bid to become the U.S.’s next Health and Human Services Secretary.

The caps read “Make America Healthy Again,” a slogan coined by Kennedy Jr. that has quickly become a rallying cry for a wildly diverse and unlikely political coalition.

    https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2025/02/01/this-top-senate-democrat-is-under-federal-investigation-n4936581

Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. has made a bold move, dismissing about 30 federal prosecutors involved in the Capitol riot cases. This decision, announced on Friday, signals a significant housecleaning of the top prosecutor’s office in Washington, D.C., as Martin gears up to purge partisans who weaponized the Justice Department against Joe Biden’s political enemies, including Trump, pro-life activists, and others.

But he’s also taken another bold step, effectively launching an investigation into Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer over comments he made back in March 2020 during a #MyRightMyDecision rally outside the Supreme Court. During the rally, Schumer blatantly threatened Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch over their potential votes in the first abortion case before the Supreme Court with the new conservative majority.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer said to a chorus of cheers. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

According to 18 U.S. Code § 115, whoever threatens a federal official, “with intent to impede, intimidate, or interfere with such official, judge, or law enforcement officer while engaged in the performance of official duties, or with intent to retaliate against such official, judge, or law enforcement officer on account of the performance of official duties, shall be punished” by a fine or imprisonment of as much as ten years.

Pete, Tulsi, Kash, and RFK: The Sum of All Democratic Fears

The left has good reason to be very afraid of this quick-witted quartet.

    by Tim Donner | Feb 1, 2025

Once upon a time, Senate scrutiny of a president’s Cabinet appointments was essentially pro forma. The advice and consent of the upper chamber of Congress was necessary, but despite whether the incoming president was a Republican or Democrat, it was largely a formality. Senators from both parties mostly agreed with the basic premise that a president deserves to surround himself with whomever he desires. But that was in normal times. And as we well know, the second Trump presidency, like the first, is anything but normal.

Top Treasury Official Announces Resignation — Comes at the Same Time Elon Musk and DOGE Team Discover Treasury Is Funding Terrorist Groups

By Jim Hoft  Feb. 1, 2025 11:20 am

David Lebryk, the top-ranking career U.S. Treasury Department official, will leave his post where he has been a top official for years.

Elon Musk and the DOGE team are currently examining the treasury payment systems.

Lebryk clashed with Musk over access to a “sensitive system” used to pay over $6 trillion a year in Social Security and Medicare benefits.

The results of the audit may not bode well for David Lebryk.
