    Good morning Lucille,

Great photos on a special day for the United States of America.

Only one other President other than Donald Trump, has ever won two discontinuous terms.

The first was Grover Cleveland, a fiscally conservative Democrat, who campaigned against the political corruption of his day. He gained the support of independent Republicans and won his first election.

He did win the popular vote in his second run for the Presidency, but lost the Electoral College vote to Benjamin Harrison. The Harrison administration and the Republican-dominated Congress then went on a spending spree that wiped out the Treasury surplus and led to Harrison’s defeat by Cleveland four years later.

    Some interesting similarities.

Good mornin’, kids! I’ve never been so glad to see a Monday since 2017! We’re just a few hours from that unburdening! Regal is the order of the day! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

The pardons are rolling in. So far Fauci and Milley confirmed to have some sort of pardon. Some J6 committee members (TBD).

When that happened above, I was using my Mac and Edge browser. This comment is on a laptop PC and using Chrome browser. These are the only two that allow me to post pictures. We’ll see what happens.

WP does not seem to like Apple products. I have a large Apple tablet, and over the years, I’ve gradually defaulted to using it exclusively. I have a new laptop for the grandson’s use in school which I’ve almost never touched.

I need to motivate myself to figure out how to use it in his education, but by the time we finish classes, we’re both ready to be done. Still, he needs it.

Anyhow, I find the iPad to be user friendly, portable, use it for my books, and since I can bank, file taxes, and print from it, I’ve quit using a laptop. To the point that now I’m no longer comfortable on one.

My son talked me into a MacBook Air. I had spent so much on the Geek Squad on my other computer that, even though it was so expensive, over time it actually paid off. Besides, if I do have a problem, he can log into my computer from his and fix it. I adjusted to it much quicker than I thought I would and have had very few problems with it.

    International Day of Acceptance

Disc Jockey Day – they have made a place in our culture since at least Dick Clark’s TV show.

National Cheese Lovers’ Day – I’ll make sure to have some today, as I do several times a week

National Buttercrunch Day – candy that is

25*, sunny and windy. Going to 16* tonight, and snow predicted to start in the early morning. Dangerous here because practically nobody knows how to drive in snow and on ice. I plan to be home before dusk today, and stay here until Thursday afternoon.

Good morning everybody! As others have said, it is almost better that Donald Trump is taking office in 2025 rather than four years earlier. He has more of our citizens behind him because of the awful Biden years. Besides, he is being sworn in on MLK Day, and will be the President to celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary next year.

I really believe this is true. We are better off for letting the country see what the Democrats are. I don’t think they’ll remember long term, and permanently change, but successively, we make inroads. It’s a good day.

God bless America and our new President and Vice President! It’s unbelievable that the day is sunny and bright in WDC. It all could have been held outside after all.

Frank Pavone: A Spiritual View of the Inauguration

By Frank Pavone Jan. 20, 2025 12:00 pm

And today, once again, a provision of our Constitution that we use every four years comes to the forefront again, as we inaugurate a President.

Yet the event, especially this year, is more than a Constitutional transfer of power from one President to another. It is a moment of transition for every American.

We have been through a trauma in America these last four years. Constitutional boundaries have been violated just like our border has; censorship and mandates have been imposed upon us; inflation and insecurity have haunted us; transgender ideology and abortion have been shoved down our throats; and insanity has often taken the place of commonsense.

Trump did not place his hand on the Bible. OMG. Is he really the President? /s

They were running late. Melania was barely in position, waiting, and Roberts rushed the Oath of Office. (Roberts failed again in giving the oath of office.)

    Sheesh. (original definition)
