Well. We finally have an answer why so much history and knowledge has been lost through the millenia – dumbing down the citizens through time.
Mornin’ y’all.

Good grief. My grandson has learned cursive writing this year. He can read it well. Of course, his brother and sister, in public schools, have not.
It takes a lot longer to print than to write in cursive. I prefer it.
Morning Wee. The world is a big sheet of ice around me.

Every night this week it has been a freeze, with frost on he grass and the roof. As soon as the temp rises a little in the morning the roof ice melts and drips merrily off all around the house.

I have never been a printer. I always write in cursive, it is easier and, in my case, more legible. My printing is pretty much a mess. My cursive, on the other hand, is legible. I was appalled when I heard they weren’t teaching it in the public schools.

A number of years ago – when I was put on part-time at work – I volunteered with the Mormons transcribing historical documents. They were mostly census records and immigration records. It was interesting!

Good day, Texan! Definitely a machine which will get the job done on a stressful afternoon.
Remember, some days any old mug will do….

Good morning everybody! More snow – but only another inch – and cold today. Hasn’t been warm enough to melt any of the snow, and don’t expect it for some days yet.
Stay warm and get plenty of Tex’s coffee! I see he has the economy size urns on duty this morning.

Good mornin’, Miss Stella! Sunday is always the day for the big guns for sure. Especially since we’re all sitting inside for the most part. Stay warm.

Good day, Stella! We’re at a dismal 34 degrees, snow melting and running off the roofs. Nothing that any lottery win of even a lowly million wouldn’t cure.

It appears that here in Montana, 34* and less is the norm for the winter.

Our Favorite Sunday Columnist has some thoughts on the CA fires and what the political process behind it. One interesting tidbit – the state passed some laws a couple of years ago that allowed you to transfer the taxable basis of your home in the event it burned down in a fire to a new or existing home if done within two years of the event. We all know that there won’t be one home built in the next two years. They may not even get the fires out the way they’re going.

National Curried Chicken Day – looking forward to that
National Marzipan Day – don’t eat this much
National Kiss a Ginger Day – “Ginger” fallen out of the language of most of us. Still big in Great Britain
National Pharmacist Day – I’ll wave as I go by today
National Sunday Supper Day – what’s your favorite meal?

Morning czarina. I always liked fried chicken or pot roast on Sunday. Never fry chicken anymore, and I rarely make a pot roast. Maybe I need to go back to my roots.

Fried chicken was always the go-to at my Aunt Anna’s house, where my parents spent their summers after my dad retired. Anybody who showed up on Sunday for dinner got chicken and whatever was ready in the garden. Good memories!

Mornin’ Czarina! One of my favorite meals is meatloaf (mine,) baked potatoes, and steamed broccoli. I made it every Friday for my grandparents for about a year, and think of them every time I make it. They were a pair that never varied the menu from the day of the week – Monday, this, Tuesday, that…

Lots of people used to be that way. I kind of admire it, and I think you could reduce the foods you need to have on hand, knowing what you plan to cook.
So help me, I can’t do that. I’m like a writer or an artist. I get inspiration!
Also, I love good meatloaf. Most is mediocre.

I love meatloaf too. Haven’t made it in a while, so it’s time to bring it back.

Morning czarina! I just found this NYT recipe, and have the chicken thawing right now. Looks good.

I love pot roast. It’s delicious, easy to prepare, and it lasts for several meals.
As for the ‘ginger’, they seem to be looked down on in Great Britain. I think red headed people are attractive.

Good morning! – I came across this video on x. It’s short….a man who stands in the destruction from Helene and sends greetings to the people standing in their own destruction in California.
He is thoughtful. Compassionate. Angry. Confrontive. Plainspoken. He provides facts and context.
It’s the best short summary I’ve seen about what is completely WRONG with current governance…that includes the bureaucrats/agencies, so it won’t be so easily fixed just because POTUS Trump is back in the House.

Evening, All. Went to old apt to try to get the rest of the “junk” out of it. I am about done physically. I stopped and got a bottle of wine and had a glass and it made me feel better. My hips and back are hurting. Just one more week and it will be over. I am going to get help cleaning. I know I can’t do it all myself. Hopefully it will work out.
Hope you all had a great weekend.

Mel Gibson has an interesting take on the fires. I was thinking along those same lines myself.
