Big storm the weather people played up for two days, amounted to about 1/2 hour of medium to light rain, several lightning strikes, and not much wind. Of course I may find more damage when I go down the driveway.

Now they are promising mostly clear weather for the rest of the week, ending with a drop from 74* to 58* by Friday.

Good mornin’! I figured we needed the big guns this morning, so I found this gem with twin three-gallon tanks and run by natural gas! Keep your head on a swivel and Carpe’ your coffee!

National Pepper Pot Soup Day – a highly spiced soup, attributed to either African immigrants or George Washington’s chef at Valley Forge

National Tick Tock Day – reminder to complete any unfinished business that might need addressing before the end of the year.

More on the subject from Fox & Friends. My Italian company brought many Italian engineers etc. into the USA to work. Of course, we also employed many American engineers etc., and most of our employees were American citizens.

Trump. He needs to explain all of this somehow. I personally know several people who had to train immigrants to do their job and then were fired. Disney was rampant with this. And, the workers knew what was happening at the time. Some had worked there for many years. So, the abuses need to be exposed because a lot of people are not going to believe that only the top 1% are being hired from outside the country.

I think there is a difference between legitimate use of the H1B program and abuses such as you describe. It seems that no matter what, there will be companies/people who break the law. Does that mean that the program itself is bad? Those who break the law should be punished.

Trump attempted to fix the H1B visa system during his first term, but it was overturned by Biden’s administration. See chart; denial of H1B visas by year – highest during the Trump administration.

I was really glad to read this, thanks. I think, as is so often the case, a lot of people who are really in an uproar about this have no idea what they’re talking about, at worst. At best, they are unwilling to look at both sides of the issue. That always perturbs me to an extreme degree. I do not like people who won’t look at both sides of an issue. And we have a lot of those on our side, increasingly.

I said it during President Trump’s first administration, and I’ll say it again. A huge percentage of his supporters just expected him to, by himself, get everything on their dream list accomplished, and they abdicated any responsibility to act with civic responsibility, or even think about what was going on.

It is beneficial, IMO, to have a lot of smart, accomplished, strong minded people to bring various resources and talents to the table. That requires skillful negotiation, and compromise. Fortunately, I think President Trump excels at those qualities. Many of his followers, not so much.

Everyone should read this. Just a portion in recap, which says (much better) what I said in my first comment:

55% of billion dollar+ tech companies were started by immigrants. Google + Intel + Tesla were all founded or built by immigrants. They employ 400,000+ people collectively. Percentage of workforce allowed to be H-1B is effectively capped at 15% for big tech companies. The other 85%+ is American. At Google only 5% of the workforce was H-1B renewals or petitions in 2023. The U.S. is 12/37 among first-world (OECD) nations in science. 28/37 in math. 400,000 new engineers are needed every year. A third of positions go unfilled. Short-term, we need foreign reinforcements or we will lose. Long-term, we need to improve the home team.

Watched a movie yesterday with the title called the Spy!!! it was a good movie based on a true story set in the 1940’s during World War II. It was about a woman who was a entertainer and very popular from Norway. Long story short, she was recruited by Norwegian security forces to help deter the invasion of the Nazis!!! She also was recruited, successfully, by the Nazi’s!!! Watching this movie it dawned on me how entertainers are used to spread propaganda and how the American entertainment industry is being used to spread the BS of the Dimocrat party!!!

Wow. That is almost scary how smart he is. You can almost see him thinking, and very fast at that. As soon as he see a problem he looks for a solution to it.
