I posted this in late November, 2020. Amazing how true it was, and how people DID remember!

Morning all. We did not succumb to the food coma! Only ate one meal yesterday, and I might not eat again until tomorrow. Hope your day was filled with good times and loved ones.

Morning, Menagerie! If you have a little bit of turkey left over, this frittata sounds delicious….
Turkey Frittata…A great way to use yesterday’s turkey for today’s brunch.

For many years the Friday after Thanksgiving was shopaholic time, as was the day after Christmas where I would buy items for the next Christmas. Hard to believe, but folks in Los Angeles were civilized shoppers in those days. Don’t have a clue if that’s still the same, of course. But with their fascist DA having lost his election, maybe now shoplifters will be prosecuted.

Thanks Lucille, I’m a big frittata fan!

Good mornin’, Lucille! I’m going to share this with Mrs. T because, I too am a big frittata fan and word has it there’s some turkey in the fridge this morning. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Good morning Menagerie! I only ate the one meal yesterday too, and it was a good one! So far, the coffee is brewed this morning. AND it is snowing – a lot!

Good mornin’, and Happy Black Friday! I hope that everyone had a wonderful day yesterday (and a few today) with friends and family. My wish is that even if someone in the bunch might have bet on the other team that they didn’t cut off their hair during the meal or thought they were a money-changer for your gathering. This morning is sort of old-school/new school, as this was an early model from Mr. Coffee. This may have even been a Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio model. Keep your head on a swivel and Carpe’ your coffee!

Thanks T, that works. Good morning!

Good mornin’, Menage! Sometimes we just have to go with the basics. Takes us back to a simpler place and time. And makes us appreciate the new model that cost half the price and comes with a clock and a timer to start the coffee before we even get out of bed!

Mornin’ Tex! No politics here. The only ‘discussion’ was which wine was best. I had a coffee maker like that once, except mine was made by Black & Decker, I think.

neat, compact and in very good condition. And it does make 8 cups at a time!

Technically, if you filled it to the bottom of the silver ring, it’s considered a 10-cup. Even better.

“Reporters” are already exhausted from all the work they are getting from the incoming administration! They should be jumping for joy, but it appears they prefer the stenographer model they’ve been working under for the last four years as Rush called it. Clowns is what I call them.

Something tells me their idea of exhaustion sets a low bar. Although I bet they are having to grab some Red Bulls with Trump coming back.
If one of my grandkids said they wanted to be a journalist, I reckon I’d have to get tattooed up, dye my hair blue, cut off one side of it, put a split lock washer in my nostril, and find some moth eaten clothes so that I could properly scream.
Nah, I think I’d just default to knocking their head around and re-awakening their brain.

My son-in-law and I were discussing just last night how we learned how to diagram sentences and do mental arithmetic. The sentence diagramming has more or less gone by the wayside it seems.

As we’re getting closer and closer to the changeover to sanity, more and more about J6 is coming out and no one on the “inside” looks good. I hope there will be some accountability in the next four years. That includes those who are currently in office and those who may no longer be holding office, as well as those who were wearing uniforms, too.

This is big on my priority list too, for numerous reasons. Justice first. And don’t you ever dare think about this second. They should be prosecuted and serve time.

Good day, Czarina! Numerous items here that are easily worked into a celebration. Electronic greetings…yes; You’re welcoming…mmmhuh; maize…yeah; buy nothing…easy to do when you’ve got no extra cash; Black Friday…so why is it called that?; listening to what?; flossing…celebrated every day is most advisable.
Native American Heritage…I had a crush on the mystical Crazy Horse when I was a kid…unfortunately there are no known photos of him as he shunned being photographed and would never have posed like some of the fake photos show. I’m surprised someone didn’t photograph his body after he was murdered at then-called Camp Robinson (now Fort), Nebraska, on September 5, 1877.
“…an ink and watercolor portrait of Crazy Horse painted around 1940 by Lakota artist Andrew Standing Soldier. The artist had gained a reputation for his accurate portrayals of Lakota life in the 1930s and 1940s, as well as historic events. The painting was based on descriptions given the artist by Crazy Horse’s relatives and close friends, who reportedly pronounced it an excellent likeness. The original of this painting is in the Sheridan County Historical Museum in Rushville, Nebraska.” – Lakota Times, April 2, 2009

It was called Black Friday because it was usually the first day of the year when retailers finally moved out of the red column (losing money) into the black column ( profit).

Thanks, Czarina! Unfortunately seeing the malls and stores like Macy’s just about completely without customers (as shown in YouTubes today), Black Friday just may have failed in its mission.

Afternoon All. We got no snow yesterday and it seems like it should be clear today. It is almost 30* right now. So, it has been warm enough for the snow to melt and cold enough at night for it to freeze into ice. Sidewalks are clear.
Had a great day yesterday. There was lots of food and everyone was very agreeable. Turns out, they are all pretty conservative. Loki minded her manners and didn’t beg. She just helped by cleaning up the floor under the table. The children all played well and were no problem at all. The cleanup went really fast and my dil just cleaned the meat off the turkey and plopped the bones into some kind of cooker to make broth. I will admit, we did eat on pretty paper plates which were very sturdy.
My son’s sil is a realtor and had looked up rentals for me. The only thing she found was a house I had seen and was considering. I wonder if it is a sign that I need to go after it. My son took me to the street and it is in a nice area. It was dark, but I had been through there in the daylight with my dil before. So, we will see what comes of it.

Good afternoon, aus! Glad you had such a nice Thanksgiving with lots of delicious foods and lovely people.
We’re overcast and in the 30s. The highlight of my day is awaiting a couple of boxes from Amazon and taking out the trash. I also need to continue sorting out china collectibles plus pottery and glass for giveaway to the local humane society thrift shop and packing away many pieces for distribution to family.
Take care!

“Hating Thanksgiving”
By Daniel Greenfield
It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without turkey, long lines, and people browsing their phones for Black Friday deals in which the products had their prices raised by 80% and then cut by 80% before being stealthily replaced by Amazon with identical looking Chinese knockoffs.
And it also wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without the media launching another round of shots in its endless war on America with ‘explainers’ claiming that the Pilgrims were racist and that we should be ashamed of the holiday.
(Axios even managed to slander Sarah Josepha Hale, an abolitionist who helped make Thanksgiving a national holiday (and wrote ‘Mary had a Litte Lamb’) by accusing her of racism.)
