But all the people Trump is pulling out of the House and Senateto fill his cabinet will reduce supporters during votes when he needs them. It takes a while to hold elections to replace them. Or am I missing something?

So far the only sitting member that has been appointed is Stefanik. I’m sure they are considering that. In some states the house member or Senator would be replaced in a special election, and in some by appointment of the governor; in that case it would depend on the governor.

Just read that Mike Waltz from Florida is being appointed National Security adviser. The NY Times says:

House Republicans appear on track to win a narrow majority in the next Congress. Special elections would need to be held to replace both Mr. Waltz and Ms. Stefanik, who currently represent safe districts for the party.
