National Sundae Day – seems a mistake to put it on a calendar day instead of the “second Sunday in November “. I heard the invention of the sundae was to get around a ban on ice cream served on Sunday.

Guy on the TV is making a chicken pot pie filled beignet. You have to understand a beignet is a sweet, deep fried, covered in powdered sugar, usually served with coffee. It is a piece of fried dough. And you know southerners will deep fry anything. Shoulda known this was coming…

morn all. cold gray day here, but that is ok, we will have our president back. in fact, he has already changed things all over the world. we have a leader.

I have a word of warning, be careful out there, some, maybe many, of the left are certifiably nuts. I saw a post next door about a man who killed himself and his wife and children because trump won. I couldn’t even post it here, it seemed so awful.

I’m watching Kamala supporters on Twitter talking about moving to another country. One point they may not have considered: They will still be liable to pay U.S. taxes as long as they are citizens. Can you imagine paying BOTH U.S. and Canadian taxes?

If you are a U.S. citizen or resident alien, the rules for filing income, estate, and gift tax returns and paying estimated tax are generally the same whether you are in the United States or abroad. You are subject to tax on worldwide income from all sources and must report all taxable income and pay taxes according to the Internal Revenue Code.

Many Americans living abroad qualify for special tax benefits, such as the foreign earned income exclusion and foreign tax credit, but they can only get them by filing a U.S. return. For further details, see Publication 54, Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad.

        Also, gasoline prices are higher:

Average gasoline price in Ontario (Octane-95) from July 15, 2024, to October 21, 2024: 1.73 CAD per liter

        There are 3.7854 liters in a U.S. gallon. Price is 1.73 x 3.7854 = 6.548742 CAD, or $4.70.

I looked this up because I was curious. If I earned $50,000 a year and lived in Ontario, how much tax would I pay? Here is the answer:

      Federal Income Tax:
Using the snippets from the “Ontario income tax calculator 2023-2024” and “2024 Income Tax Calculator Ontario”, we can estimate the federal income tax as follows:
Amounts earned up to $51,446 are taxed at 5.05% (2024 rates).
Since $50,000 falls within this range, the federal income tax would be approximately $2,533 (5.05% of $50,000).
      Ontario Provincial Income Tax:
According to the snippets from “Ontario income tax calculator 2023-2024” and “2024 Income Tax Calculator Ontario”, the Ontario provincial income tax rates are:
Amounts earned up to $102,894 are taxed at 9.15%.
Since $50,000 falls below this threshold, the Ontario provincial income tax would be approximately $4,550 (9.15% of $50,000).
      Ontario Health Premium:
Since your income is above $20,000, you would pay the Ontario Health Premium, which is 6% of income above $20,000. For $50,000, this would be approximately $600 (6% of $30,000, assuming $20,000 is exempt).
      Total Tax Liability:
Adding up the federal, provincial, and health premium taxes, your total tax liability would be approximately $7,683 ($2,533 federal + $4,550 provincial + $600 health premium).

This doesn’t include sales tax, which is 13% in Ontario.

The other item on Gateway Pundit regarding the Wolverine state:
