Good mornin’, and Happy Saturday, y’all! What a glorious day it is!!!! Just like when we were young’uns, it’s time to go outside. Know that our work is just beginning. But we will have coffee! Marvelous coffee, fantastic, great, the best ever coffee! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe your coffee!

I think all of us knew the left has a mental illness problem, but wow, has this week not proven the point? Why would you be so proud to be that weak and unstable? Making videos of your tears and screams? Shaving your heads? Wearing bracelets to prove you won’t try to sleep with any man stupid enough not to see the insanity and ugliness clean to your bones? College classes canceled?

I don’t want to buy products from these deranged, useless people. I don’t want to have them do my taxes, or be my healthcare provider. They aren’t fit to provide adequate service in any capacity, except maybe if you buy Starbucks coffee.

When I was growing up, we were still trying to be tougher, and those of us who were not athletic wished we were, and envied the more physical kids. A lot. And even nerdy bookworms like me learned to square up to life and face problems head on, lest they mow you down.

I’ve asked this question so many times. Who is going to provide care for these lifelong fit throwing children when Mommy dies?

I have three sons who are productive members of society. That’s pretty much our accomplishment, my husband and I. If we’d failed at that, we would leave nothing else behind that mattered, regardless of our wealth or status.

I do not have even faint insight into the minds of these people. To celebrate your own weakness, insanity, and defeat, publicly. Wow.

I have been trying to talk to my sister for the past week, but she does not answer her phone. Got a two word text response on Tuesday. I know my sister is a hardcore Rat, and would have voted for Kamala simply because she is a woman, but having all the woke accoutrements on her would have made that vote mandatory. So now, I suspect my sister is so upset with my Republicanism that she cannot answer the phone to make light conversation.

That’s ok. I can wait and can be pleasant when she comes around. I am not so invested in ideology that I will divest myself of other people.

Even if they have clearly gone off the deep end…

That’s extreme. I find it better just to ignore politics when conversing with loved ones. She must be a real believer.

I’m with you czarina. I’m not willing to write off friends and loved ones because of how they vote. Now, if they tried to lecture me or attack me, I’d have to try to talk them down, and I might not be as patient. But it sounds like she may just need time, and doesn’t want to burn bridges with you.

I’ve got some family that I haven’t written off, but I haven’t written to them either. There is minimal interaction, but attempts are made to remain sociable with them. This time around, I’m trying to hold my tongue, but my bust-a-gut laughter kinda gives it away. Fortunately, seesters and Dad are all on the right side of history, so no issues there whatsoever. Both seesters went to multiple rallies this year even. Kind of jealous.

I don’t have anyone in our close family, or even the outer fringes of aunts, cousins, etc. who isn’t, if not an outright Trump supporter, someone who enthusiastically voted for him, and against the Democrats.

However, I have some friends I know are more liberal, and some people in my circle who are pretty anti Trump, a few of them at my former parish. We just don’t talk politics, which I think is best.

During Covid they (on Facebook) expressed fear that people like me would be sitting in the same pews as their children. So I left.

Sorry to hear that, Czarina. Hopefully she’ll think more kindly towards those she disagrees with when it comes to the holidays. Those days are often a great way to bring family back together again, especially if there is an agreement NOT to discuss politics, keeping the conversations on happy days of childhood and other fond remembrances.

I’ve got no Dem relatives that I know of. They were all on my Dad’s side and contact has been completely lost with everyone. I was pleasantly surprised to find that when one of my grandnieces (my sister’s granddaughter) and her family visited in August, they all knew about President Trump and were big fans. They are considering moving to the U.S. if the Conservatives under Pierre Poilievre don’t win and he fails to become Prime Minister.

        Take care!

Some of them are deranged, but I think a lot of them are acting for clicks on Tik-Tok and Instagram. Not the head shavers though. They are nuts.

Good mornin’, Miss Stella! I love your summation. You have your line in the sand. There’s a rumor going around, and I have to repeat that it’s only a rumor right now, that little Ella had a meltdown yesterday and that she had to be admitted to a mental health facility. Unable to confirm, but be on the lookout for info.

They don’t play, and they really didn’t vote much prior to this year. I’ll bet that changes from here on out. There will likely be a lot more Yoder’s and Stoltenfuss’s on the voter rolls next cycle! Might have to set up hitching posts at voting sites.

I hope Elon keeps his busses running. That was another good thing he did, providing transportation for them, no questions asked about who they were voting for.

I sincerely hope that President Trumps will let the IVF idea die. If he doesn’t, it puts Vance in a hell of a spot, and will rob him of much of the Catholic support in 2028, absolutely including me.

For anyone interested in the complexities of this issue, this is a good primer. The bishop want to quietly support President Trump, but they will not support IVF, praise God.

I feel about this, from a more secular perspective, like many people do paying for abortion, or trans surgeries for anybody. Why should I have to? Leave it alone.

Got a pot of chili on the stove. I love it this time of year! Made it with ground turkey and black beans (that’s what I had), although I prefer beef. Still tastes good.
