Good mornin’, and Happy Friday. Down in this part of the country, a subset of our population celebrates the honor of their family members who have passed, on Dia de los Muertos. In honor of the day, I found something that should fit in with that theme. I’m pretty sure that it’s an AI generated model, but definitely unique. Keep your head on a swivel and Carpe your coffee

A gentle reminder for those on our side who would encourage us to embrace our neighbors if we win on Tuesday. No! Not this time.

afternoon all. it is 32* noe. the snow has melted except in places.

the dogs around here are becoming a problem. I have to keep an eye out and avoid them. in fl it wasn’t much of a problem, the difference being that most of the dogs in the apt complex were under 30 lbs. in fact, most were under 15 lbs when I think about it. here, people have huge dogs and two or three at a time. we were attacked yesterday by a 30 lb dog that is just two doors down from us. he was on a leash, but pulled away as soon as the door was opened and came after Loki. i was at a disadvantage because of my cast, but I finally managed to pick her up and the dog lunged and I felt his face against me as he tried to bite her in my arms. a bigger dog would have knocked ne down. I have to find a way to protect us both.

well, hope you all have a nice day with no dog bites.

Aus, glad too, that you and Loki are safe. What did the owner of the dog do or not do, when the dog pulled away?

That dog’s behavior was unacceptable. Even without a bite, the dog causing you to tumble might easily have re-injured you, and harmed Loki, too.

Definitely report the incident, preferably with your cast in plain sight. If the complex does not respond quickly, call animal control and report the attack. Dog owners are responsible for the behavior of their pets, for good or ill.

No one needs a bad dog in the neighborhood.

well, the woman was trying to catch the dog and finally did. but, yes, it was dangerous for me. I am trying to think what I will say to mgmt. I feel pretty sure that a lot of the dogs are not registered.

Not the Bee has a bunch of great news today. Trump promised $10,000 tax credit per child for home schoolers. October jobs report was wrong by 100,000 fewer jobs than they thought they had. New Hampshire is now a toss up state.

We hear all the chatter about tech and how it’s tamping down Trump info and promoting Cackles. I just went to ChatGPT 4.0 and asked about the upcoming election. I was pleasantly surprised by the response. Here it is in entirety –

what are the odds that donald trump wins the electionChatGPT said:ChatGPT

As of November 1, 2024, the U.S. presidential race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is exceptionally close. Various sources provide differing probabilities for each candidate’s chances of winning:

    • FiveThirtyEight’s Forecast: Their model gives Trump a 52% chance of winning the Electoral College, with Harris at 48%. FiveThirtyEight Projects
    • Betting Markets: Platforms like Polymarket indicate a 66% probability for a Trump victory. New York Magazine
    • Betting Odds: Betting sites such as Odds Shark list Trump as the favorite with odds of -200, implying a 66.7% chance of winning. Oddsshark

These varying figures reflect the race’s tightness and the inherent uncertainties in forecasting models and betting markets. The final outcome will depend on voter turnout and decisions in key swing states.

I posted this before, but I’m doing it again so more people will see it. Keep it in mind as we near the election.

This “policy” should scare the crap out of everyone. Authorizing Military Use of force AGAINST the American public. At the end of September, very quietly, DoD amended the directive from what it has always been. We can only hope that the soldiers in those uniforms refuse “unlawful” (there is a difference between a directive and a law) orders as they are sworn to do.

Have you heard of DOD Directive 5240.01? Does it authorize the military to turn on American citizens? I’m looking into it. Here it is:
