Good mornin’, Lucille! Beautiful fall foliage pictures, but you might want to find out when they moved those Wasatch mountains to MS. Coffee’s ready, ma’am, and I’ll bet you will have some cups to match today’s coffee making machine.

Yeah, I spent many months in those Wasatch mountains before I moved to Mississippi…

LOL! Whadda I know? Half the time I’d be hard pressed to point out Mississippi or Utah on the map.
“Might as well laugh” applies here.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies
By Ivy Odom
It’s no secret that Southerners are enthusiastic about all things pumpkin dessert. In fact, we can’t seem to get enough of it. With pumpkin in mind, we’ve created the ultimate fall treat: pumpkin whoopie pies.

When we visited the Amish farm in Ohio they had those for sale during the house tour.

Good mornin’, and Happy Taco Tuesday, y’all! Time to take a trip back to a time that was a little saner than crazy time we’re in today. A time when our fridge, range top, oven and carpet all were the same color. Keep your head on a swivel and Carpe your coffee this last week of nonsense.

I remember those days! My firs fridge was that dark coppertone color. And it lasted years, indeed was still fine when we sold the the house.
Brought cups for all of us, we shall match again!
Thanks, and good morning T!

Good mornin’, Menage! I knew someone would come through with the color coordination. IIRC, the big 3 were Harvest Gold, Coppertone, and Avocado green. Am I missing any others? We were a Coppertone family. Dark colors in a small kitchen. Good combo.
😉

The gas range we had when I was a kid was pink. Because it was the cheapest, and that was what my dad always, always bought.

I kind of like this pink kitchen! One house I lived in had pink countertops (they were Contact paper). That wasn’t lovely.

You might say pink countertops are why I became a faux painter and opened a business of my own.
The lady who built our log cabin with her husband loved pink, wallpaper, and cutesy bear collections. The countertops in the kitchen were Pepto Bismal pink.
We put all the money we had into buying that cabin before it sold, and we had two house payments for about a year (9/11 happened!).
I taught myself various painting techniques before going to Atlanta for classes. One of the first things I did was paint the cabinets and, believe it or not, those pink countertops. No one except us ever knew they had been painted.
We also had perfectly good oak wood flooring, but in those days it was often made with those fake plastic pegs in the boards. To my artistic eye, it looked like I had polka dot floors.
So, I painted the floors to look like old, reclaimed wood floors. No one ever knew that was paint either. Took me two months of grueling work down on my knees.
Those days are over.

You are talented! I’m not sure I could have put that much work into it, but I have done stranger things.

we had a white stove, but a pink and gray tiled bathroom. mama said that was why she wanted the house. I have never seen a pink stove before.

The last house I lived in was built in the 1940’s, and it had peach and black tile in the bathroom. I got used to it, and it was in excellent condition.

ours was probably built in the late 40’s.

Our stove when I was a kid was dark green and black enamel and it was from the 1930s. Hated it at the time but now I love it…looked pretty much like this….

Pink kitchens were started by Mamie Eisenhower. My father painted our refrigerator pink, then later back to white, at my mother’s request. The countertops were pink and grey Formica. His station wagon was pink and black.

Our first fridge was, too – and still running when we moved! Oh to have one of those old appliances (that might actually last more than a couple of years) these days…

Once again, Kamala tries to dictate the terms. Just like she did with Fox/Bret Baier. And just like with them, she would show up late and leave early if she got her way.

The NYT is going after prominent pro-Trump commentators. They are apparently threatening to pressure YouTube to demonetize them because of “misinformation” that Media Matters has earmarked. Here is the tweet from Tucker Carlson, but I have also seen the same sort of thing sent to Ben Shapiro and others.

Dodger Fans Celebrate in East Los Angeles Despite Police Presence After Game 3 Victory
EAST LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29 (KNN) – Los Angeles Dodger fans gathered in East Los Angeles at Olympic and Atlantic boulevards around 9 p.m. after the team won against the New York Yankees in the World Series Monday night. The KNN video from the location shows a crowd waving Dodger flags, cars doing donuts in the intersection, and expressing joy despite the police presence. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department units and California Highway Patrol officers blocked intersections to try to prevent fans from celebrating recklessly and attempting to possibly contain the celebration.
