Video of the Rhodes family farm during the hurricane, as they tried to save what they could of their farm and livestock. And they were among the lucky ones. They still have a home, food, water, a generator and fuel.
This would have scared me to death. I have had minor flooding in my neighborhood, and even that was heartbreaking. I can’t even imagine.

They are able to post videos because they got a Starlink from a neighbor, and have now ordered one of their own. Thank you, Elon Musk!

What I take from this:
Chimney Rock has not been taken over by the government, they are already rebuilding, the town isn’t overcome by the smell of rotting bodies, and they aren’t bulldozing bodies. See for yourself.

yeah, just because it isn’t happening there doesn’t mean it isn’t happening in other places

Maybe, but Lake Lure and Chimney Rock were specifically mentioned in the Twitter claim. That doesn’t appear to be true. Telling lies doesn’t help anybody.

I don’t know. I do know that I don’t trust either FEMA spokespersons or the Democrat governor of NC.

I remember how hard they worked to mitigate Helene’s potential damage to their property. Lots of good maintenance before that.
Still, the floods were agonizingly close to their house.
Country life is physically hard and requires endurance, steady effort and patience.
God bless them for showing what it was like in real-time.

I just read an account on Twitter by a relative of a family who kept climbing higher in their house as the flood waters rose. They ended up on their roof, which collapsed. They all died.
