Speaking of the working men and women of America, here is a young guy I watch. Cole is a farmer in Iowa, and here he explains the economics of raising corn and soybeans on his family’s farm. He also has a series of videos about rebuilding his “great-great-grandpa’s $7,000 mansion”. This guy has a lot of energy!

Czar and I loved to go to lunch there, good prices, great atmosphere and food.

Good day, Czarina! The atmosphere would certainly be conducive to having a very pleasant meal; so it’s good to know the food and prices are enjoyable, too.

Dan Blocker and Michael Landon! #shorts

I loved both of them. I was so disappointed in Michael Landon when I found out he wasn’t anything like his characters, silly young girl I was. And, Hoss was the character on Bonanza that I figured I would marry if I was one of the characters in the show. I loved Hoss.

Good day, aus! A co-worker of mine went to the same church as Landon’s wife. When he was so terribly ill with cancer and the treatments, they prayed a lot for him and he was very touched by their love and concern. It’s never too late to change.

I love sweet hummingbirds – I can’t hang feeders currently as two of my beasts are still young enough to jump up and catch them. This is not permitted at my house! Mornin’ Czarina!

Good day, Menagerie! My parents had a hummingbird which they named Jubal after a character in a Louis L’Amour novel. They kept the feeder filled up with sugar water for his daily visit.

Afternoon Lucille. Jubal Sackett was a favorite of mine!

What a nice coincidence! Mom and Dad read every novel Louis L’Amour ever wrote.

I read Louis L’Amour and Zane Gray many times. After I got divorced when I was 30, I went to Joshua Tree and camped. While I was there I hiked and spent time reading their books. It was a neat experience reading the stories in a place they were describing in the books.

Morning, czarina! If I ate a blueberry popsicle, I would get it all over my shirt. But I am eating some blueberries with cottage cheese, strawberries and watermelon this morning.

Don’t remember Victory in Europe day but I do vaguely remember VJ Day. I was three and people were joyously marching around our neighborhood in Torrance, California with flags, noise makers, and hitting metal pots with spoons.

Mornin’ All. It is really cool here with a clear blue sky. I notice there are a lot of people working today even though it is Labor Day. Hope you all can have a nice one.

started out coolish with a breeze, but high humidity dripping off the roof. Sun shone hotly all day and I came home to 98*. Now clouding a bit and temp dropping into the 80’s

Have you ever had Kabocha squash? I roasted one today with olive oil and a bit of cinnamon. I like it at least as well as butternut squash, and is lower in calories and carbs.

Had to look that one up. I’ve never seen it around here.

I think it originated in Japan. I’ll definitely buy it again. Another thing: right now it is cheaper than butternut.
