Good mornin’, kids! While I didn’t watch the big reveal last night, I saw enough comments to get the impression that it didn’t quite lock the thing down for these numb-n*ts. Guess we better gird our loins for more fun and frivolity today. There was a siting of Brain-Freeze Brandon yesterday at some beach in DE, and he just sat in one place most of the day. Hopefully he’ll be taking another week off. Coffee up, y’all. We gonna need it

I’m pretty confident that most on these pages lean a certain way with regards to certain social issues. Well, we’ve been hearing rumblings about certain folks in that movement who are now not going to support Trump because he’s not “pure” in his support for their cause. They better watch out what they wish for. Here’s a hard dose of reality for them.

I’d like to go deeper. This is the bottom line, for any person, especially pro life voters. However, there’s more. I consider myself a one issue vote to a great extent. Abortion is not all that matters, but if a person is a passionate pro abortion supporter, or a Democrat, I will not ever vote for them.

As we discussed yesterday, T, there are moments when President Trump should have sense enough to stop talking.

Point 1. I think Trump is trying to position himself to get more votes from potential swing voters, and he may get some. People tend to be passionate either one way or another.

I see this as Budweiser scenario. I can’t for the life of me see why he sees much potential here.

Point 2. I think those not really involved in the pro life movement, not Catholic or Evangelical (broad brush here, and apologies to all other pro lifers) fail to understand the depth of dissatisfaction and resolve of pro lifers, and the potential number of them and ramifications. And they are enraged right now, and feeling quite betrayed.

These people are workers. They are passionate, and they will go every mile to get pro life people of influence in key positions, including political office. They can be counted on to do the dirty work, raise money, get out the vote, man phones, whatever.

Point 3. The IVF is a BFD. Frankly, I’m outraged. There are, according to several quick searches, about 1.5 million frozen embryos in this country. Babies in limbo whose lives are of no import to those who seek parenthood at any cost. For Trump to suggest that this should be paid for by insurance or the government, is just about hitting my red line, and I know the consequences of not voting for him.

I think I speak plainly here for us pragmatic pro life Catholic Christians. Bottom line, short of my stated red line I won’t cross, is which vote is going to be the best I can do for the pre-born lives at stake.

That’s a clear vote for President Trump in my book.

But…it’s a big, huge but. I’ll only maintain that support until a politician crosses the line that takes me into a state of mortal sin because I would be giving material support to a great evil, and also creating scandal by not standing clearly in opposition.

IVF is a terrible attack on human life. It’s a travesty that is a very big deal to me, and many, many other voters.

Why should I be expected to subsidize such an inherently evil practice?

President Trump just needs to back off here, and stop. He’s in a hole. Stop digging!

His biggest problem is that he doesn’t know when to shut up. That may well be his Achilles Heel. I’m not a woman, but I am a father and grandfather, so my perspective may differ around the edges. I’m not going to get into the weeds, but I will put it this way…….I will never vote for anyone who believes in abortion on demand any time any place. I’m not going to be the biggest fan of someone who may be trying to thread a needle, but by not voting for the one threading the needle, that is the same (in my book) as voting for the one who wants a free-for-all. Don’t bypass good, if great isn’t there. Something like that.

Some comments from one poor sap who sat through the “hour-long”, 18 minute interview. I saw another article about the bookies changing their tune rather quickly as well.

I’m pretty sure that we all knew that “carbon credits” was a scam from the get-go, but apparently the Fish-wrapper of record has recently found that out as well. Makes me wonder what is going on. Far too many recent revelations by WaPo, Zuck, and others for it to be a co-inky-dink. I think it’s a head-fake.
