Gotta find something to laugh about in that overpriced prima donna coffee joint! I feel so awkward when I go into one in a hotel that I might be staying, because I would never go into one for the fun of it. They look at you so weird when you order a large black coffee. It’s like you’re asking for something in Latin.

      😉

One barista (just that term seems so arrogant) looked down his nose at me when I ordered a black coffee and said, “so you want a Cafe Americano?” I had no idea what that was until I went home and looked it up.

I told him I wanted black coffee. He repeated himself, even more snootily. I said just coffee black. I got what tasted yuk to me, a Cafe Americano. Not the same, and I don’t like espresso, even if you put hot water in it.

Also, years of being drilled on customer service at Home Depot makes me want to slug people who won’t at least thank you for charging gold bouillon for a cup of coffee. And Starbucks appears to train their people never to say thank you. They never, ever do, and this absolutely enrages me.

If you deal with the public, give them a smile and a thank you. If you can’t do that simple thing, then go live on the street with the drug addicts. Your cardboard box is more than you deserve.

Of course, to be fair, around Thanksgiving and Christmas, you’ll hear me say how much being in retail management has made me hate people, so it goes both ways.

I like McDonald’s coffee and found out when I came up here that I could buy the grounds at Walmart and I have been coffee happy ever since.

Good mornin’, kids, and welcome to halftime, aka – Hump Day……. this model looks like a possible triple dipper, where you also get to grind your own beans. Grab your cup, and fill ‘er up!

Our old friend Jack Cashill has some thoughts on Cackles and J6. Jack gets a lot of pushback, as our legacy “media” consider him right up there with Alex Jones because he goes right after their fatted calves, and has, ever since Teh Won showed up to fundamentally change the United States of America.

Evidence Mounts for Kamala Role in J6 Plot – American Thinker

National Thoughtful Day – thinking deep thoughts or being nice to others?

National Power Rangers Day – can’t say I’ve ever watched the cartoon

National Cherry Turnover Day – maybe they’ll have some at the store.

My all time fave, red wine, if it’s a good one. I don’t much care for most whites. Except Gewürztraminer. Yeah, I had to cheat and copy that. I hope it DOESN’T land me in jail.

I have no idea how I typed in caps, it wasn’t because I’d had no coffee at that point! Sure getting a lesson in needing to proofread myself today.

Sneaking in here between lessons does not produce good grammar. But it’s fun!

Well, I gave up buying wine about 6 months ago, can’t afford it. We pretty much lived with the Power Rangers for years. And, I would love a Cherry Turnover.

I’ve been buying wine at Aldi and Trader Joe for a while now. Much less expensive.

I was buying the cheap stuff at Walmart. I just had to give up something. More things to give up are coming. We don’t have an Aldi anywhere near here. I wish we did. I really liked it. I don’t know if there is a Trader Joes here.

We now have a Trader Joe’s and I like some of their things. However, they are on the other (bad) side of town, through nasty traffic. I hate going over there. We might as well be Atlanta these days, as far as traffic goes.

Chattanooga has two major interstates come through town, I-75 north/south and I-24 east/west. A study done by Bass Pro stores years ago before they came here showed this huge amount of traffic passing through here, a giant percentage of the traffic east of the Mississippi River. And they are located where the two interstates cross.

Also have quite a few Aldi’s and I am a fan.

I prefer Aldi to Trader Joe myself. Aldi is much less expensive on some things, although their selection is limited. They have a good selection of cheese at reasonable prices. I noticed that the frozen fruit (mixed berry, for example) is about half the price I pay at Meijer. I buy their brand (Winking Owl) Pinot Grigio for less than $4.00 a bottle. I think it is made by Gallo.

I have also found some good deals on one time things they had, like a good muffin pan once, and occasional Christmas things, other seasonal items. They have a good price on kefir, and used to be very good on milk, bread, and eggs. I haven’t been there in awhile.

It is usually where I buy my spaetzle noodles in the fall.

They had finally gotten an Aldi’s where I lived in FL. But, it was at the total other end of town so I only went about once a month. They were building one down near where I lived, but it wasn’t built before I left. I sure liked shopping there.

I looked up Trader Joe’s and can’t find one here, either.

NO is having crisis after crisis, some due to the Rat mayor, some antique infrastructure, some lazy and “ain’t my fault” bureaucrats. For the third time this month there is a boil water advisory in the parish. There were 120 past due invoices for work authorized and completed on city property (city council found out and forced the department to get off their a****es now there are just 13 overdue). The ankle monitoring system was not being monitored – there was over $2 million in the account but “nobody sent any requests for payment” so the company stopped monitoring and teenage thugs just did whatever they wanted, cut the anklets off, etc, and one finally killed a French Quarter tour guide. City council fixed it because the Rat mayor apparently didn’t know about it or didn’t want to be bothered.

Raise your hand if you want to live in a big city run by Rats…
