Good mornin’, and Happy Sunday, kids! We’re going strictly on volume today, since we know that we’re gonna be busy slaying dragons all week. This is the biggest one I can find so far. Carpe your coffee!

Our Favorite Sunday Columnist has a lot of thoughts about the week that was. Before she dives in, she gives her take on one thing that happened with the intent to really damage DJT and Bibi. She didn’t miss much that I’m aware of from the glitzy, glammy confab in Chicago, which BTW, had 15 murders from last Sunday through last night. Make sure you’ve got plenty of coffee.

Remember the pier we “built” somewhere around Gaza? Here’s why you haven’t heard much about it lately. Everything about it has turned to sh*t, including the support around it. We can’t even get the boats back home from this fishing trip on their own. We are spreading fear around the globe with stuff like this. Fear that we are now not even bringing our C game to the table, let alone our A game.

I’ve got a pretty good idea which stage of life I’m at. Anyone want to hazard a guess?

National Park Service Founders Day – many good people with local interests, I imagine
National Banana Split Day – wow, it has been years!
National Whiskey Sour Day – I like these. Oh, I meant to tell Menagerie to try Yukon Jack whiskey, the Czarevich recommends it.
National Secondhand Wardrobe Day – got a few treasured pieces myself
National Kiss and Make Up Day – nice thought. Could be germy…

Morning, czarina! I’ll dream about eating a banana split. I have some nice secondhand pieces myself. Don’t know about the Yukon Jack whiskey!

The banana split sounds yummy. I can’t even remember the last time I had one.

A picnic trip to the park in honor of the day. Taking along the ingredients for a banana split dessert. I’ll need my second-hand hat to keep the sun out of my eyes.
Will come home to a whiskey sour to relax. Maybe make-up with someone who had to work and wanted me to wait for another day.
Not really worried about the germs…

Apparently, there don’t seem to be many facts connected to the Walz campaign at all. Here’s another whopper he told back in ’06, and had been called on it then.

Afternoon All. Overcast and cool this morning. It looks like it might try to rain, but it is hard to tell.
Our church was established 20 years ago today. We had a potluck and they showed some photos of the church and members in the past. The church was built on a piece of land that one of the members donated. Then, members of various trades donated their time, etc. They did pay some retired construction workers who are in an organization to help build churches across the country. To furnish the building, the pastor made a list of what was needed, like in a shower registry, and let people sign on to donate what they could. The outcome is that the church is paid for. It is an amazing story.
Well, I just saw the weather report and there is some really hot weather out there. So, take care.

What a wonderful church story Aus,
The donation of the land was a great help and inspiration. How thoughtful of the pastor to make a list so everyone could feel they had a part in the church.
The fact that they are not in debit is outstanding. Much in contrast to the bigger is better trend; the massive debt that goes along with it, and the burden it places on the church members.

The man who donated the land was a farmer. I gather his family had become wealthy. He died just a month or so ago. I went to the funeral and leaned all kinds of things about him and his family and how they reached out to help people. He went to Africa many times to set up schools, adopted some African children who are now grown and came to the service. His first wife died many years ago and he remarried, joining two families with lots of children together. When his wife died, I think it must have been the first one, they donated her grand piano in her name.
