Mornin’ all ya’all! Come to the end of a four day cool spell with low humidity, returning to hot and humid, with some rain chance as well. Don’t be fooled, it’s not the end of summer here.

Mornin’ All. Cool and comfortable here with clear blue skies. I have the windows open to air out the apartment. I wonder if our little hot spell has broken. Having grown up in tropical and sub-tropical climates and having spent the last 14 years in Florida, this is wonderful.
Hope you all down south can stay indoors.

It just makes sense after all that beer, pizza and potatoes, you’re going to need those sweatpants, either for the roominess, or for the work-out you’re going to need. Some of it could be at the outdoor range, for the fresh air of it.
The Bible’s for the blessing, or the prayers needed that you’ll soon be able to wear something other than sweatpants.

DJT had some thoughts on Cackles’ speech last night, and it appears that he didn’t ramble off the reservation. I just hope he can retain his focus and not start the name-calling and just beat her over the head with facts.

Good day, Czarina! Haven’t heard of the Gossamer Condor glider flight, but this is my favorite glider flight of all time….
McQueen had a stunt double, Roy McMaster, for this scene; but he looks so perfect in the glider. He did acquire a private pilot license in 1979 and passed away the following year at age 50. For years I kept a copy of the Los Angeles Times where his obit covered the front page.

I made roasted cherry tomato sauce as a side dish tonight, with rotini pasta. So good. If you have never done this, it is much better than regular pasta sauce and easy. How I do mine:
Cover a sheet pan with foil. Pour 2 pints of cherry tomatoes on the pan. Cut up a medium onion in chunks and add. Peel and add four cloves of garlic. Peel and cut up a large carrot and add. You could also add torn up fresh basil, but I forgot! Pour a generous amount of olive oil over the vegetables and mix to coat them thoroughly.
Roast the vegetables at 400° for 30 or 35 minutes or until they are soft (keep an eye on them so they don’t burn).
When they are done, pour them into a bowl. Make into a sauce with an immersion blender. Alternatively, pour the vegetables into a blender and blend into a sauce.
Next, add salt, pepper and oregano (or Italian seasoning) to taste, and about a 1/4 cup of finely grated Parmesan or other good hard cheese. Best to grate your own.
Cook and add 1/2 pound of pasta, cooked. I prefer small pasta like rotini or penne.
Check for seasoning and enjoy! I had mine with some rotisserie chicken.

I love the fresh roasted taste of veggies. Throw in some cut up zucchini and yellow squash and don’t blend any of it but serve it mixed in with your pasta. Delish.

I like roasted veg too, but this tomato sauce is different and special.
One good roasted veg combo is potatoes, onions, garlic and peppers.
