      Good morning Lucille.

My husband and I just finished watching a British mystery series, Shetland, set in the Scottish archipelago Shetland. It’s so close to Norway that I got interested in both the islands and Norway, and have read a bit on both.

That’s the best tv show I’ve watched in many years. If you guys have access, I highly recommend it.

I’m a mystery junkie, and found the plots to be involved and outstanding. Cast of characters and acting also extremely well done. And then there’s the magnificent background of Shetland, not only scenery in the series, but somehow worked into the plots almost as a character. Each season focuses on one case, so the mystery goes deep.

Good mornin’, kids, and Happy Friday Eve! I’m posting this one because it’s unique. A “vacuum” coffee maker. I’ve got to look that up because I’m not sure how it works. Carpe someone or something today! There will be more brilliance coming from the Swamp and y’all have to be at the top of your game.

    😉

Us hillbillies in IN never played those fancy games like lacrosse or field hockey. We wuz poor. I remember the rope and the peg board though. With nothing but a 2″ mat to save you if you let go!

They could have had a gun to my head, and I couldn’t have gone up a soulless of feet. No.

I hated those stupid bamboo like whacker sticks they made you jump in and out of. Kind of like jump rope (which I was actually great at). One kid sat on either end with these long hollow sticks and clacked them together and on the floor in some rhythm, and you had to hop in and out and through.

Supposed to be some kind of Indonesian cultural thing or some crap. All I know is I wanted to kill somebody for bruising up my ankles.

I hated everything about Phys Ed. Everything they do hurts, and is pointless. I dislike team sports. I never got picked for a team and ended up on whatever one got to me last because I had no skills and did not care. When I was a senior they added tennis, golf and bowling but it was too late.

However I excelled at poetry reading, debate, drama and all intellectual things.

OMG. That would have been such a disaster for me. My hands were not strong and I had a fear of heights.

What I really disliked was basketball. We played half-court and it was the MOST BORING thing I had ever done and still is to me. We could only bounce the ball once and had to throw it to someone else and we could only go half way, so we would just stand there most of the time.

Scientists Find a Cause of Lupus and a Way to Potentially Reverse It

Researchers believe targeting a chemical imbalance could more effectively treat lupus without systemic immunosuppression interventions.

    By Marina Zhang  – 7/10/2024

Patients with lupus have an imbalance in a crucial chemical pathway in their bodies, according to a Nature study published on Wednesday.

Researchers found that this imbalance produces more disease-causing cells that promote lupus. If this chemical imbalance can be corrected, they believe lupus can be reversed.

Current lupus treatments often target symptoms or broadly suppress the immune system, leading to side effects. The researchers believe targeting the specific chemical imbalance identified could more effectively treat lupus without systemic immunosuppression interventions.

WATCH: Biden Calls Ukraine’s Zelensky ‘President Putin’

    By Todd Starnes – July 11, 2024

President Biden called Ukraine’s Zelensky, “President Putin.” The gaffe happened at the NATO Summit meeting in Washington, D.C. And it happened just hours before a crucial press conference designed to show that the president’s mind has not turned to mush. “And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin! President Putin? We’re gonna beat President Putin. President Zelenskyy! I’m so focused on beating Putin. We got to worry about it — anyway, Mr. President.”
