    I wondered what happened to Stellas this morning. So many weird things happen on WP I figured it must be the problem.

    It is a beautiful warm sunny day here in the far NW. But, I do realize that it will be only a few short months before the snow tires have to be put back on. LOL

    Got to spend some time with my grandkids yesterday. Played some board games and things with the girls. And, the baby is something else. He is 6 mo. old and has gotten two bottom teeth. I was holding him standing in front of me and I heard a slight scratching sound and he was gnawing on the wooden table in front of me. He actually left marks on it. He is very strong and hard to hold on to because he moves so much. But, he is a happy little baby and not fussy at all. I really enjoyed spending time with them.

    Well, hope your weather is not too bad where you are.

    I’m pretty sure everyone here is familiar with the Steele dossier that they used against DJT. What most of us were not aware of was that there were three prominent “republicans” who were given copies of this drivel back in 2016, and all three of them sat on it. The good news is that none of them are in public office anymore, but I don’t want to hear anyone try to tell me there is no swamp. Your own “team” will sell you out in a heartbeat in that dump.

    Mornin’ All. Cool air, hot sun, clear blue sky. Nice day altogether.

    I just had a talk with my neighbor. She and her sister, who also lives here, called the manager and the police. They have been seeing drug deals in the parking lot and my neighbor on the other side has been letting people stay in his apartment when he is not there.. He usually is staying with his girlfriend. So, now I know why I have seen so many strangers wandering around. Funny thing is, there is no smoking here and they were walking around with cigarettes and a loose dog. I finally noticed them and their dog yesterday. Somebody stole an air conditioner out of the back of a truck a week or so ago. I thought it was pretty safe here, but I guess it is getting less safe.

    Anyway, got things to do and places to go today. I have to turn in some paperwork that is due tomorrow, I think. If not, it is due the next day.

    Hope your weather is nice and everyone is safe.

    So now it appears that Trump will be further gagged for the debate. From Clarice’s FB –

    @hughhewitt

    The trial judge in the show trial in Manhattan, Juan Merchan, altered the gag order he has imposed on

    @realDonaldTrump

    an hour ago. Altered it. Merchan did not remove it. Two days before the debate.

    So, does the former president summon his lawyers into debate prep? How does he not? The rules just changed for Trump (but not for

    @JoeBiden

    or the moderators.)

    Does anyone not see that the timing of this of course impacts the debate preparation, just as the original gag order has done? My over-under on the words “conviction/convicted” is 10, how is the former president supposed to prepare for the debate?

    The (in my opinion unconstitutional) gag order is like a law school hypothetical where the professor keeps tweaking the facts to make a point or lead a student to an understanding of the law. Here a political judge and contributor to

    @JoeBiden

    just called Calvin Ball. Trump’s lawyers’ advice on what he can and cannot say in the debate will be interesting (if we ever are informed by the former president what that advice is.)

    Seen on the webs…..

    It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there’s nothing worse than an oversen*sitive woman.

    My name is Mike. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Pat to get a full-time job, along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed. Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work.

    Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don’t yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men’s Grill at the club, so eating out is not reasonable. I’m ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door. She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it’s not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner.

    I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won’t clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.

    Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, Boys, we take ’em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two, or even three days. That way, she won’t have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn’t hurt her any (if you know what I mean). I like to think tact is one of my strong points.

    When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half-finished mowing the yard. I try not to make a scene. I’m a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too.

    I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support my wife. I’m not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, Guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.

    EDITOR’S NOTE:

    Mike, died suddenly on July 23 of a perforated rectum. The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra-long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying nearby. His wife was arrested and charged with murd*er. The all-woman jury took only 10 minutes to find her Not Guilty, accepting her defense that Mike, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club. 🙃😛🤣🤣

    Mornin’ All. It rained early in the morning. It was hitting the window so hard it woke me up, but the sound of the rain put me back to sleep. It was still sprinkling when we got up, but it quit soon after that. And, it is pretty dark and gray outside now. I think it is supposed to rain most of the day. We need it.

    I think I will watch the debate tonight, just so I can see what actually happens. I will be playing solitaire on my computer to keep my attention focused on something. We’ll see how it goes. I think last time I lasted 15 min. LOL

    What a mess that debate was last night. I think Trump actually felt sorry for Biden. I was watching his face as Biden talked. I think he is angry at what Biden has done to the country, but he has such a big heart I don’t think he could help feeling sorry for Biden a little. I was shocked to hear that the Dems were all upset about Biden’s performance. But, I actually think the people who were saying it was all planned may be right. SCOTUS Hands Down J6 Decision Affecting Hundreds of Capitol Protestors

    Kevin Downey Jr. | 10:54 AM on June 28, 2024

    On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Fischer v. United States that a federal obstruction law does not apply to January 6 protesters. The case affects hundreds of individuals who participated in the mostly peaceful “breach” of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Those sentences will all need to be reviewed now. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion. Justice Amy Coney Barrett dissented, joined by Sotomayor and Kagan.
