Rep. Matt Gaetz also criticized the bill, stating that it disregards the Constitution and the common understanding of words.
“This evening, I will vote AGAINST the ridiculous hate speech bill called the “Antisemitism Awareness Act.” Antisemitism is wrong, but this legislation is written without regard for the Constitution, common sense, or even the common understanding of the meaning of words,” Gaetz wrote.

Here’s somethin’ you might find amusing – from the FB :D
HOW TO DRIVE IN HOUSTON:
1. You must first learn to pronounce the city name, HOUston. Foreigners are still allowed to call it YOUston
2. The morning rush hour is from 5:00 am to noon. The evening rush hour is from noon to 7:00 pm. Friday’s rush hour starts on Thursday morning.
3. The minimum acceptable speed on I-45 is 80 mph. On 99 and 59, your speed is expected to at least match the highway number. Anything less is considered ‘Wussy’.
4. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Houston has its own version of traffic rules. For example, Ferraris and Lamborghinis owned by sports stars go first at a four-way stop. Cars/trucks with the loudest muffler go second. The trucks with the biggest tires go third. The HOV lanes are really designed just for the slow Louisianans passing through who are used to hogging the left lane everywhere.
5. If you actually stop at a yellow light or stop sign, you will be rear ended, cussed out, and possibly shot. Unless there is a police car nearby.
6. Never honk at anyone. Ever. Seriously. It’s another offense that can get you shot.
7. Road construction is permanent and continuous. Detour barrels are moved around for your entertainment pleasure during the middle of the night to make the next day’s driving a bit more exciting. Generally, city roads other than the main streets have more potholes and bumps (usually speed bumps) than most dirt roads in the countryside.
8. Watch carefully for road hazards such as drunks, ladders, possums, skunks, dogs, barrels, cones, furniture, cats, mattresses, shredded tires, squirrels, rabbits, and crows.
9. Be aware that spelling of street names may change from block to block. 610 may be South loop west, East loop south etc.
10. If someone actually has their turn signal on, wave them to the shoulder immediately to let them know it has been “accidentally activated”.
11. If you are in the left lane and only driving 75 in a 55-65 mph zone, k, e.g., you are considered a road hazard and will be “flipped off” accordingly. If you return the flip, you’ll be shot.
MOST IMPORTANT: If you get LOST, Look for I-45 … Then you are somewhere in Houston.

First time my parents came down to visit, we were driving on 610 near the Astrodome, and my poor momma was so skeered she cried a little. It really wasn’t that bad, it was on a Saturday, and everyone was going about the same speed……….80!

Afternoon All. It has been weird here. It was raining and snowing yesterday. The grass has grown and is deep, so while that was going on they mowed the lawn and weedeated. Today it was still in the high 30’s and misting, I guess, the ground got we anyway. Oh, and it is overcast.
I couldn’t get my MacBook to work this morning. I had finally let it do the update last night and when I opened it up there was a top third of the screen black and the bottom two thirds a picture of an island. The curser moved but the only thing to click on was the country of (whatever). My DIL and son were unavailable and I couldn’t think of anyone to call that had a MacBook, or an Apple of some kind. Well, guess what I did? I called Spectrum and got hold of a technical person who was so sweet and she told me to call Apple and gave me the direct number to their technical dept. So I called and got them right away and she told me to push the button and hold it and everything came back up. So, I am back up and running but having to redo some things like sign back in here. I don’t think I will do any more updates at all.

One thing I have learned is to write down whatever worked, like that button, for future use. Second thing is to turn it off, wait five minutes, no less, then turn it back on. Sometimes that works.

National Truffle Day – one year I made about 50 truffles by hand. Recipe was easy, forming the truffles was difficult, because they had to be cold to form the shapes. Then they were rolled in coffee, cocoa, powdered sugar or nuts. Tasted great, tho.
