Supreme Court Denies Bid to Expand No-Excuse Mail-In Ballots in Texas

    By Tom Ozimek – 4/22/2024

The Supreme Court’s refusal to hear the appeal means that the Texas law stays in place, delivering a win to election integrity advocates.

Good mornin’, kids! What goes better with breakfast tacos on Tuesday………..Coffee, of course. Here’s vintage Farberware, and we can see we’re into the electrified era with this one. Probably about the time we heathens began destroying the world using evil electricity. Coffee up, y’all!

To celebrate Earth Day, our friends in India had a different idea………..they had a garbage dump fire instead! Wonder when we’ll hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from our Gaia worshipers?

LOL! Good one! There are lots of flashbacks and visuals when seeing a photo of Anthony Hopkins. Of course, one is SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.

For me there’s a humorous, yet insulting, 1976 incident that happened when Hopkins came to Los Angeles to star in a remake of the famous Bette Davis film, DARK VICTORY. I was the casting coordinator on that TV movie and got a call from his agent one day just after Hopkins’ arrival.

The agent was steaming and proceeded to grill me on whether or not I’d released information to anyone who may have called my office trying to locate Hopkins. Such information is always confidential, and I said that I had not and would not do such a thing. The agent was skeptical, more or less indicating that my protest of innocence was not believed and there would be H-to-pay if they found out otherwise because Hopkins and his wife were VERY annoyed.

When the call ended, I was quite upset since my professional integrity had been questioned and my job could be affected. So when my boss came into his office, I told him all about the incident. He proceeded to call the agent and confirmed I was a trusted assistant and certainly wouldn’t give out information to anyone regarding where an actor was staying while in town. Later my boss heard a rumor that the whole story may have had to do with some female “stalker” who his wife was suspicious of actually being known by Hopkins.

Ah, yes, the joys of employment. I can chuckle about it now, but definitely wasn’t laughing at the time.

Mornin’ All. It was only 29* when we got up, but the sun is out in a clear blue sky and it is not windy. Looks to be a nice day.

My son sent me a video last night of my 4 1/2 mo. old grandson crawling on his back. He was on his back pushing with his feet and moving along pretty fast.  I can’t wait until he figures out he can do that on his tummy. He was squealing with joy and laughing. What fun.

Well, hope your day is as nice as mine looks to be.

Excuse me, but just what has NPR and its executives, producers and staff done lately for the betterment of individual Native Americans?

How many work at NPR? How much was donated to Indian charities? Has NPR promoted Indian artisans and jewelry makers? Has anyone donated their homes and other real estate to the closest tribe? Have they visited all reservations in the U.S. to see how the Bureau of Indian Affairs continues to treat Indians like children. Put your money where your mouth is.
