Mornin all ya’all! Hazy not cloudy in Frisco, 30 miles north of Dallas. Got a little party of extended family, fried chicken, science experiments, and enthusiasm.

Everyone agreed green and red still looked ok, colander hole shadows did not show the movement of the moon across the sun, and we did see the waves from air turbulence on the white sheet. Did not get noticeably cooler, wind did lessen considerably, birds did not sing. Dog did not seem to care.

Well, as it turns out now we have what looks like several layers of clouds in the sky and even if we could see any of the eclipse from here, we wouldn’t be able to.

I just checked, and we got a very small piece of the eclipse. I really couldn’t tell the difference, but like I said, it is a very thick cloud cover right now. We are just so far away from it.

That makes sense. Where I am was 99% totality, and it got quite dark, but not like those who were 100%.

Did you know that it is a cultural practice for Pakistani Muslims to marry their first cousins? It apparently has become a problem in the UK because so many children are born with genetic conditions, many of them very serious. At the same time, the politicians are afraid to speak up about it, because the Pakistanis cry “racist”, and that they are being picked on because they are Muslim.
