    Reading from John 12:12-15….

    Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem

The next day the great crowd that had come to the festival heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.  So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord—the King of Israel!”

Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it; as it is written: “Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”

    Stellars, have a blessed…

Good morning! Still cold – 28° – but most of our snow is melted, and temps are supposed to go up to 40° today. Cloudy though.

Afternoon All. We got inches of snow overnight and it was blowing like crazy so there are drifts everywhere. It is 30* right now, but was so cold this morning that my friend and I decided not to drive to Church. With the wind chill it was either 8* or -8*. I trust her judgment because she has lived in this weather all her life.

Hope everyone is healthy and warm.

Good day, Czarina! Seeing the three not-exactly-compatible food and drink national day choices reminds me of a fun little encounter at Christmastime one year in the late 70s.

Standing in a mid-day crowded check-out line at the Century City/Olympic Blvd. Ralph’s grocery, relatively near 20th Century Fox on Pico Blvd., I’d just placed on the conveyor belt items for our Christmas party–wines, six-packs of cola, candies, chips, dips.

Then I heard a voice behind me saying, “That’s a pretty unhealthy combination of things.” I turned to see Gene Hackman with a smile on his face and further saying, “That could make you sick.” We both laughed and I said, “It’s for an office party.” ”Well, good luck,” he said. After I paid, I turned back to him and said, “You have a nice day now.”

I chucked about that all during our party.

Good one! Here’s another one re free speech from Jonathan Turley:

      https://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/4551132-free-speech-hangs-in-the-balance-in-three-supreme-court-cases/

[. . .]We are now living through one of the most anti-free speech periods in our history. On our campuses, law professors are leading a movement to limit free speech under the pretext of combating hate speech or disinformation. A dangerous triumvirate has formed as government, corporate and academic interests have aligned to push limitations of free expression.

That triumvirate is now before the Supreme Court, which is looking at cases where government officials targeted critics, dissenting websites and revenue sources.

What was disconcerting was to hear many of those same voices from our campuses echoed this week on the court itself.

This is precious! The libs are losing their pea-picking minds over En-Bee-See hiring Mitten’s niece to talk about their beloved politics. While not her biggest fan, it amazes me that grown-*ss people can become so unhinged at the thought of someone having a different opinion than they have. Shows me that they really are mentally challenged.

The Left Has a Meltdown Over NBC Hiring McDaniel, So MSNBC Says No to Ronna – RedState

MSNBC President Caves to Woke Mob and Nixes McDaniel Hire

      https://pjmedia.com/rick-moran/2024/03/24/msnbc-president-caves-to-woke-mob-and-nixes-mcdaniel-hire-n4927593

When I first heard that MSNBC had hired former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel, I thought it might have been some kind of joke. The most anti-Republican, anti-conservative network in existence hiring a former leader of the GOP? Someone made a mistake somewhere.

Actually, the mistake was in thinking that the MSNBC liberal drones would be able to tolerate someone in their midst who disagreed with them. Once the news broke about McDaniel’s hiring, the snowflakes rose up on their hind legs like good little puppies and begged the powers that be to take it back.

Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan scolded the network for daring to give someone a job who disagreed with employees.

“McDaniel lied about the 2020 election result, was involved in a pressure campaign to get Michigan officials not to certify the vote, and has accused MSNBC of ‘spreading lies’ and employing ‘prime time propagandists,’” Hasan posted on X.

Hasan’s show had been canceled due to low ratings. On a network where the audience is counted using fingers and toes, that’s saying something.

The way I read these two articles is that NBC will keep her, but the underlings at MSNBC won’t let her in their club? I’ll bet they will if told to from on high. Not that anyone should cry over not getting to play on the B-team. Unless you’ve been cast aside from CNN, then this would be your last stop except for the 3:00 am slot in Poughkeepsie. On Sunday morning.

Sixto should have been a megastar, imo….

I THINK OF YOU – composed and sung by Sixto Rodriguez (July 10, 1942 – August 8, 2023)

Just a song we shared, I’ll hear
Brings memories back when you were here
Of your smile, your easy laughter
Of your kiss, those moments after

    I think of you
    And think of you
    And think of you

Of the dreams we dreamt together
Of the love we vowed would never
Melt like snowflakes in the sun
My days now end as they began

    With thoughts of you
    And I think of you
    And think of you

Down the streets I walked with you
Seeing others doing things we do

Now these thoughts are haunting me
Of how complete I used to be
And in these times that we’re apart
I’ll hear this song that breaks my heart

    And think of you
    And I think of you
    And think of you
    And think of you
    And I do

    Joke of the Day….

An older gentleman walks into a store and says to the clerk behind a desk at the entrance, “I’d like a hamburger, a Coke, and a scoop of ice cream.  Make sure it’s vanilla and the dish is ice cold.”

The clerk looks at him and asks, “I’m assuming you’re American and familiar with America.”

The man, clearly annoyed and offended, says, “Well yes, of course I am.  Let me ask you something, buddy. If I asked for fried chicken and watermelon, would you ask me if I was black?  Or if I asked you for a taco and a burrito, would you ask me if I was Mexican?”

    The clerk says, “Well…probably not.”

The man angrily demands, “Then why did you ask me if I’m an American just because I asked for a hamburger, a Coke and a scoop of ice cream?”

The clerk replied, “Because this is Home Depot, Mr. President.”
