Stellars, have a blessed Sunday bird watching at….

Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica of the Nativity of Saint Mary aka Milan Cathedral, the largest church in the Italian Republic…

    Cape May, New Jersey…

(No caption but perhaps these birds are American Oystercatchers since they hang out at Cape May)

Always had great affection for Seagulls.  They are found on every continent in the world…

    • The seagull is considered to be among the most intelligent birds in the world. Some gulls will drop a mollusk shell onto a rock to break it open. Others have been observed baiting fish with bread. One of the most amazing facts is that they can remember new foraging strategies and pass them down to the next generation of gulls.
    • Unlike most animals, the seagull can drink both freshwater and saltwater. A specialized gland right above the eyes can collect and then flush out the salt right through the nostrils.
    • Seagulls have a small claw halfway up the lower leg that allows them to roost on high ledges without falling off. ((https://a-z-animals.com/animals/seagull/)

Good morning! Snow on the ground this morning, and just barely below freezing. My neighbor’s forsythia bush is blooming. Mine is almost ready to pop. Spring is almost here!

Mornin’, Miss Stella! It’s not going to snow in HOU, but it was a brisk 46* when I got up this morning. Grab some coffee whenever you’re ready!

      Good day, Stella!

      “What birds like forsythia?

“Thanks to their profuse and vibrant yellow blooms, forsythias are a magnet for early spring pollinators such as bees and butterflies. As these insects visit the flowers to collect nectar and pollen, they inadvertently attract insect-eating birds like warblers, vireos, and flycatchers. Nov 26, 2023″

Do you have any warblers in residence?

While on one level this is sad, on another, it just shows the ineptitude of the FJB administration, as well as the “high IQ” of the Gaza people standing outside and watching large heavy pallets dropping from the sky. Another SMH moment.

Remember when the Firefighters booed their porcine State AG the other day? Yeah, me too. Looks like the union goons are looking for them so they can get “educated”. The union way, baby!

I’d rather quit my job than submit to this forced reeducation camp tactic. The union sure is feeling its inner Marxist. A trained firefighter would have no trouble at all finding a job in a red state.

Expecting a package from Amazon today, I checked to determine where it was en route; and up popped the name of Airway Heights, WA. Checking to see where that was (near Spokane), I also found this question and answer….

“Is Airway Heights a good place to live?

“Living in Airway Heights offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents rent their homes. In Airway Heights there are a lot of parks. Residents of Airway Heights tend to lean conservative. The public schools in Airway Heights are above average.”

Mmmm, it leans conservative and has above average schools. Coincidence?

What’s the odds in November the township goes to Donald J. Trump and that the census number in 2020 of 10,757 grows exponentially.

Just got a report from Mrs. T that the first hummingbird has showed up at Rancho el Gordito for the year. A couple days early. Normal ETA has been 3/14 or 3/15 since I started tracking them in 2012. Our predominant bird is the black-throated bird with the ruby-throated the #2. Here goes the sugar bill for the next 6 months.  😉

My Mom and Dad had a favorite hummingbird who stopped by daily at their feeder. They named him Jubal, apparently after a character in a Louis L’Amour novel.

Ours in Slowdeatha could be counted on from3/15 – 10/15, as a rule. But we always had the feeders ready the week before, and two weeks after. :)

Here (with cats) it’s a baited field, so to speak, and I won’t go back to my old ways until attrition with able cats comes to pass. I love the humms.
