    On this day in North American history, March 6, 1836…a battle was lost but revolutionary victory was on the horizon…REMEMBER THE ALAMO!

    “At dawn on March 6, 1836, the 13th day of the siege, the Battle of the Alamo commenced. Fighting lasted roughly 90 minutes, and by daybreak all the Defenders had perished, including a former congressman from Tennessee, David Crockett. The loss of the garrison was felt all over Texas, and even the world. The Defenders were from many different countries, including some Defenders who were native-born Mexicans.     Apparently, our young folk who gnash the teeth and spend time protesting this and that really don’t think it’s their place to pay for Glo-Bull Warming……..or at least more than $10 a month to fight the existential threat of our time.

    Mornin’ All. Had to get up earlier than I have been getting up because the safety inspector is coming around to check things. I don’t think they will be here until later, but they said 9:00. 

    It is 17* and very cold, but super sunny with a perfectly blue clear sky. Nice day. Hope you all have a nice day.

    Morning everyone. I’m doing what might be my last chili for the season. I wanted it last night, but didn’t get in the mood in time to spend hours cooking it. So, lunch it is!

      Absolutely sounds like the Babylon Bee! Since I suspect that Congress doesn’t write their own bills, and most don’t read them, I wonder if that got slipped in to embarrass the Dems?

        We know that a large percentage of Congress members aren’t serious people. They couldn’t write a budget if their lives depended upon it.

        Be great if both the House and the Senate members had to sign forms that they not only received copies of budget bills but have personally read them or joined in mandatory Republican and Democrat caucus readings. Anyone who didn’t sign the acknowledgement form doesn’t get to vote on the bill. Lying about it would mean a formal censure and possible impeachment.

        This would mean that an adequate time span for the readings would also be mandatory…say, 30 days. None of this receiving the bill from the authors (lobbyists) a week before voting.

    Good afternoon all,

    What a variety of postings today.

    It will take a while to read through all the defenders of the Alamo, so I may need a refill from Tex’s coffee pot. “Ordinary” men of extraordinary courage.

    Czarina, keeping us advised on novel ways to celebrate a day.

    Glad to see more congressmen and women actually reading the bills they are asked to pass.

    Aus, hope your inspection went well.

    Stella and Menagerie making us hungry again. I’ll take chili with or without beans, if I’m served it. Even with or over spaghetti, as some regions have it. Although some spices have been known to have more than a few insect parts, no crickets or cricket powder, please.

      The inspection went fine. The only damage is to the door from Loki scratching the drywall next to it and the paint on the door. I told him my son had said he can fix it, so he said he would bring me some paint that matches. That is a good thing because I figured that would be a problem.

    Did any of you watch the testimony by Attorney Ashleigh Merchant before the Georgia Senate today? The woman is a bulldog – well prepared and knowledgeable. Answered every question with facts, documents and data. A real pleasure to watch. She is the attorney for one of the defendants in the case being prosecuted by Nathan Wade and Fani Willis.
