Ron DeSantis has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race ahead of the New Hampshire primary, and endorsed Donald Trump

“If there was anything I could do to produce a favorable outcome — more campaign stops, more interviews — I would do it, but I can’t ask our supporters to volunteer their time and donate their resources if we don’t have a clear path to victory. Accordingly, I am today suspending my campaign.”

“Trump is superior to the current incumbent Joe Biden. That is clear. I signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee and I will honor that pledge. He has my endorsement because we can’t go back to the old Republican Guard of yesteryear, a repackaged form of warmed over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents.”

Hopefully, he’s learned the lesson of not biting off more than you can chew.

Next time choosing his advisers more carefully and honing his own instincts on tactics, too. This time around folks were unable or unwilling to see what he was doing wrong and couldn’t help him correct his course.

Personally, his future is really no concern of mine. He’s got a long way to go to pick up the majority vote. But we’d sure better have some electable candidates for 2028…maybe whoever President Trump has chosen as his V.P. or some other MAGA enthusiasts.
