Good mornin’, kids! We made it through another Iowa caucus and the good guy wins again. How about some celebratory java this morning? If’n you want to make yours a tad bit stronger, just go to the back cabinet for the good stuff! 😉

The Deep State Swamp Creatures are hard at work building spike strips to throw across the highway, day after day when DJT wins the election in Nov. They are running real scared.

FTA – “We’re already starting to put together a team to think through the most damaging types of things that he [Trump] might do so that we’re ready to bring lawsuits if we have to,” said Mary McCord”

It notes that our friend Sundance has written extensively about Ms. McCord.

Ok, time for our weather reports. 21* outside my door, which was frozen shut and covered with ice (see pic). Also, a pic of the ice encrusted spa cover. Windy and unpleasant outside, but the dogs were happy running in it. Also seemed happy to come back in. Cats are curled up in favorite places.

Mornin’ Czarina! It’s 15* right now and sunny. The roads are slicker ‘n owl snot and poor truckers are stranded everywhere. It.Is.Horrid.

Weed, completely agree about the truckers. Too often, they have no room to make their own decisions when these things happen and they have to keep going until they can’t because some dispatcher said so.

It’s 15 degrees (f) in central Oregon. Streets have been frozen solid with ice for three days. I haven’t seen a single vehicle go by myhouse for at least that long. We have ice storm conditions coming in this afternoon–everything to be covered with 1″ of ice by midnight, enough to knock down every single thing that hasn’t already gone down.

For reasons beyond my comprehension, I haven’t lost power yet. It would be wonderful if I got through what’s coming without that happening. I’m ready if I do.

A problem with ignorant Oregon people: they do not understand that in the worst of the north country (Montana/ND/MN and points east) in exactly THIS kind of weather, these kinds of conditions are what occur in November, as fall is transitioning into winter–and those hardy and wise folks breathe a sigh of relief when winter sets in for sure, becase then the pattern is no longer alternate freezing/melting/icy roads, etc.

During that fall-to-winter transition, they stay home, and NOT because they’re “afraid to drive in it”. They stay home because there’s no point in getting out there and joining all the other goofballs in the demolition derby and then waiting in the ditch ’til somebody comes to get them.

The last two days here in the Willamette Valley, it’s like an Olympic event where everybody’s freaking out to get out there. Like they have to prove they can do it. They simply do not even consider – just staying home. They don’t know that those who know these conditions best have nothing to prove and, with long wisdom, we just stay home. People are goofy.

Good day, Sharon! More on the goofy folk among us, these ones were in Washington, DC in 1920…no heat in the cars, open to the elements…might as well sit on the fenders….

True! I have photos of my parents by their Model A in 1926 in similar conditions. Of course, these ladies have the advantage of temps probably being in the high 30s, since there is active thawing in process!

I will try to be more generous with my neighbors. Tomorrow we may get above freezing which will be nice.

I am nothing but grateful to have normal sub-zero temps in my rearview mirror.

Looks like a “reevaluation” might be in progress at the Haley camp. Dropping out of NH debates.

The interesting thing not many are mentioning is that Demoncraps changed their affiliation to Repubs so they could vote for her in Iowa last night. One caucus place said they had an unusually large turnout and then realized half of them were changing from Dems to Reps to vote. So her votes were padded.

Tomorrow is a major league, big day at SCOTUS. Let’s see if they want to put the brakes on the “Administrative State” or not. While we won’t hear the final decisions until several weeks or months, this could also put a fork in the pen and phone bullsh*t that we’ve been enduring for the last 15 years or so.
