Happy Friday all! Coffee’s ready as we take on the day. We need it because the animals that we encounter seem to be snakes and wolves and such, rather than these pretty ones. Fill ‘er up!

Be thankful if you aren’t paying school taxes in Chicago. Recent audit finds $23M worth of tech equipment missing from Chicago schools. From one school year. Just gone. Disappeared. They spent $124M in total, so 20% of all equipment just vanished. Idjits!

Well, our bad weather is here. I think the house is gonna blow over. I am not game for one of those hurricane parties y’all have down on the coast.

Afternoon All. Well, all is calm here for now. The sky is almost completely clear and blue and the sun is out. However, I won’t get out my swimsuit since it is -14* right now. The wind howled and moaned all night. The cars I could see right outside my window were covered in a foot layer of snow. But, when I looked down where mine is parked, thinking it would be the same, it was completely cleaned off. It is parked where the wind blows between the buildings. I don’t know if my windshield cover is still there or is in tatters because I can’t see it.

My DIL brought the grandchildren by yesterday for lunch because the oldest had an appt for an allergy shot and the doctor’s office is very near here. So we had lunch and talked and played until they left. When they came it was almost a whiteout, the snow was coming down so fast and the wind was so strong. Luckily it changed just before they were ready to leave. It was still snowing, but slightly for a while. So, they were much safer going home.

She took some things out to her car and when she came back she said that the wind was so strong down the open hallway between the buildings she couldn’t take a breath. She explained to the girls not to be afraid if they couldn’t get a breath because they would be able to when they got to the end of the hall. She is so good at explaining things to them. She is such a good mother.

Oh, I wanted to mention that when we tried to go out the sliding glass doors this morning, the curtain was frozen to the door at the bottom. 😯 I had never seen anything like that before.

Anyway, all of you stay safe and warm as this storm gets to you.

Good afternoon, aus! Isn’t wonderful to know your grandchildren are in such good and loving hands!

My apartment is in a wind corridor. Things often rattle around in the night but last night was quite unnerving with something sounding like a person pounding on a kettle. I’m not going outside at any point today to see what it might have been, however.

      Take care!

    Good afternoon all,

After all these cold weather posts, I will have a cup of mocha with Tex’s good coffee! Thanks for the fortification Tex. We need it for both the weather and the news.

Stay warm Aus, those sills are cold. The warm air loses moisture as it meets them and your curtain got caught in the middle of moist and cold. Brr!

Menagerie, my goodness, what a wind storm. Hope the damage isn’t too great.

Poor little snow cone dog. Oh the insult added to injury.

Sounds like the weather is wild for nearly everyone, including Czarina.

The background behind Lucille’s snow leopard photo is spectacular. At least there is beauty in that cold.
