Happy New Year, kids! Looks like everyone’s been busy this morning. Coffee’s ready for anything that’s to be celebrated this morning. Not sure how this will mix with the Bloody Mary or the Jell-O, but everything else is fair game. 😉

We’re doomed. R Senators propose another gubmint agency to stop the bad stuff from DIE. Not a proposal to eliminate DIE, but another agency to protect the snowflakes. But they propose it only be in business for 12 years! They never learn.

This epitomizes what is wrong with the political landscape. Former Rep from TX dies at 88. She just left Congress (of her own accord, no less) the last cycle to “spend more time with the family” after 30 years in the fetid swamplands of DC. She’s a great grandmother for Pete’s sake. It’s all about the power and money and none of them give a rat’s rear about family. Sad to me.

President Trump Publishes Rebuttal to Democrat Party’s Abuse of 14th Amendment to Remove Him from the Ballot Like They Did to Abe Lincoln

The 13 page document is a devastating argument against this cowardly act by the Neo-Marxist Democrat Party.

OMG This is terrifying, to have the ground move away from you like that. I lived in S. Cal. for 25 years and experienced a lot of earthquakes, but nothing that strong.

  12. Happy New Year Everyone !!! 🙂
May you have a Joyful, Peaceful, and Healthy New Year!

I am often late sending out Christmas cards, and the 12 days of Christmas are not over quite yet, so I thought this info sent to me may be of interest to others:

The true Christmas season actually starts on Christmas Day itself. That’s right: December 25 marks the official start of the 12 days of Christmas, the Christian tradition that shares its name with a relentlessly stick-in-your-head Christmas carol.
The 12 days of Christmas is the period that marks the span between the birth of Christ and the coming of the Magi, the three wise men. It begins on December 25 (Christmas) and runs through January 6 (the Epiphany, sometimes also called Three Kings’ Day). Some families choose to mark the 12-day period by observing the feast days of various saints during this time (including St. Stephen, St. John Evangelist, Holy Innocents, etc, etc.) and planning daily Christmas-related activities.

“The 12 Days of Christmas” Christmas carol in which the singer talks about all the gifts they received from their “true love” during the 12 days of Christmas. To most it’s a delightful nonsense rhyme set to music. But it had a quite serious purpose when it was written. It is a good deal more than just a repetitious melody with pretty phrases and a list of strange gifts. Catholics in England during the period 1558 to 1829, when Parliament finally emancipated Catholics in England, were prohibited from ANY practice of their faith by law – private OR public. It was a crime to BE a Catholic.
“The Twelve Days of Christmas” was written in England as one of the “catechism songs” to help young Catholics learn the tenets of their faith – a memory aid, when to be caught with anything in *writing* indicating adherence to the Catholic faith could not only get you imprisoned, it could get you hanged, or shortened by a head – or hanged, drawn and quartered, a rather peculiar and ghastly punishment.

The song’s gifts are hidden meanings to the teachings of the faith. The “true love” mentioned in the song doesn’t refer to an earthly suitor, it refers to God Himself. The “me” who receives the presents refers to every baptized person. The partridge in a pear tree is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In the song, Christ is symbolically presented as a mother partridge which feigns injury to decoy predators from her helpless nestlings, much in memory of the expression of Christ’s sadness over the fate of Jerusalem: “Jerusalem! Jerusalem! How often would I have sheltered thee under my wings, as a hen does her chicks, but thou wouldst not have it so…”
The other symbols mean the following:
1 Partridge in a Pear Tree = Jesus Christ, Son of God
2 Turtle Doves = The Old and New Testaments
3 French Hens = Faith, Hope and Charity, the Theological Virtues
4 Calling Birds = The Four Gospels and/or the Four Evangelists
5 Golden Rings = The first Five Books of the Old Testament
6 Geese A-laying = The six days of creation
7 Swans A-swimming = The seven gifts of the Holy Ghost or the Seven sacraments
    8 Maids A-milking = The eight beatitudes
9 Ladies Dancing = The nine Fruits of the Holy Ghost
    10 Lords A-leaping = The Ten Commandments
11 Pipers Piping = The eleven faithful apostles
12 Drummers Drumming = The twelve points of doctrine in the Apostle’s Creed

Afternoon everyone. We are just under 30* right now. It snowed yesterday, but didn’t amount to much here. I went to my son’s yesterday and got to hold the baby for a while. He is almost up to 12 lbs. Loki was very jealous and actually seemed to try to push him out of the way. She finally gave up and laid down right next to me.

It was snowing beautifully at their house and several inches had come down. I am sure glad I have snow tires. I have to give credit to my car. She handled the snowy driveway and backroad beautifully and gave me no trouble out on the main road which had been sprayed with whatever they use, but very few cars had made tracks in it. I was worried about not knowing where the center line was, until I finally ran over it. It makes a horrendous noise, so you know you are in the middle of the road. I had forgotten that, mainly because without the snow you can see it and stay away from it. Anyway, once away from the foot of the mountains there was less snow and the roads were clearer.

I was disturbed with an awful dream of somebody hurting Loki very badly. I tried to wake up and get out of the dream, but I only managed to have a dream again only with a different person hurting her. This happened about 4 times, each with a different evil person. I am going to take it as an omen. it still haunts me even this morning. Weird.

Well, we are finally here at the New Year. Sometimes it is hard to just keep dreading something, it is better to just get on with it. And, we are. Hope your New Year starts off well.

Love and prayers for everyone here.
