Well, Czarina, hopefully no one got subjected to fruit cake with citron or the awful candied green cherries or any of the bitter fruits traditionally used. I mean, what was the purpose of inventing a sour-tasting cake? Punishment for being naughty and not nice? Just give me a moist chocolate cake or cheese cake, please.

Good afternoon, Stella! We’re at 35 degrees and cloudy. Perfect day to do several loads of wash.
Maybe I’ll even sort through all the saved plastic bags, used tissue paper and cardboard boxes in the master bedroom which only gets used for spring and summer visitors. Need to make it neater and more compact for use in packing china, glass and other goodies for family to take back with them since downsizing is a continuing project.

Not much going on today. I might go to Walmart to get some batteries for my thermometers. Other than that, I guess I will do some housekeeping. I won’t take my tree down until after New Year.

Good day, auscitizenmom! My 2-foot tree sat in the middle of the dining room table for Christmas and I just may leave it. Looks cute there and I’ve yet to determine where to store it should I go that route. I sure miss all the storage places in my L.A. house.

What I might do is remove the decorations and leave the lights on it. I did that in my last apartment and it didn’t look odd at all. It just looked lie a tall plant.

I believe that some offices and commercial spaces have lighted plants year-round. It can brighten a dark area.
Smaller spaces and less storage demand creative solutions.
