Before I read it, I would guess that it goes back to the traditional way of decorating English homes for Christmas before the Victorians. Greens and berries.

Just sent that to my eldest son. They have a terrific dog and two cats. The cats are large and in charge, hilariously so.

Wish I could train dogs like our cat trained our puppy! I’d estimate it took all of two encounters. Now, he just gives her ‘the eye’ to claim the porch for himself. (And she’s the opposite of a mellow breed, to be sure!)

Had to make one last dash to wallyworld to pick up a baking ingredient….as I was moving fast from point A to point B, I saw a youngish type woman pick up a hanger that was displaying children’s clothing.
She sniffed the clothing. (do not ask me to explain….I can’t imagine…I did not ask….)
My only thought was….”you related to the Bidens???”
It occurred to me to ask. And then I didn’t.

My older grandson used to sniff things all the time when he was younger. He seemed to have a very sensitive sense of smell.

I would’ve asked; you can tell a lot about things from the odor (like moth balls or cigarette smoke).
