Good morning, weather! It was his little joke, apparently. He came from a relatively poor family which was involved on a low level in the New York marine transportation sector. He later started his own transportation company, then expanded into the railroad business and made a huge success of everything.

I’ve always said that we all have opportunities, but those who become wealthy recognize those opportunities in a timely manner, take chances, are persistent. They also are fearless to a great extent. If they fail, they get right back in the game. It’s a mindset I’ve seen personally in many of my employers.

        F. Scott Fitzgerald took flack for his quote: “Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me.” But he was so very correct.

Mornin’, kids! One week till Christmas! I’m sure most of ya’z are long done with the shopping and hopefully it works out a tad better than some stories you read about…..Some of the rest of us might be walking on the wire and waiting until the good discounts come out Saturday or Sunday. But if you’re done, grab some coffee to celebrate, and others of us need some to steel our nerves. Coffee’s up, y’all!

How many of you were aware that the formerly great state of Minnesota has been undertaking the design of a new State flag? I was not. Some of you may be shocked, and others not so much, but thank goodness there are 50 states and 50 different experiments regarding how to run a Constitutional Republic. I’m sure many of you can guess what this monstrosity looks like. I don’t want to live there.
    Take a gander.

There haven’t been a lot of public discussions that I’ve seen about this, but it’s very apparent that Joey Mumbles and his henchmen are going after Elon. He probably feels like he’s getting a giant colonoscopy lately. They’re after SpaceX, Tesla, Twitter/X, and just pulled a large contract with Starlink, his satellite internet company. There are others who have noticed. This is far worse and insidious than the pressure Gates felt when Clinton went after him about 25 years ago. Much worse. The good thing is that Musk has the resources to wait this out and do whatever he can to make sure there is someone different sitting in that seat in a year-and-a-half.

Apparently, no one in the Biden family feels the need to pay their taxes. Of course, Ashley may have been in rehab at the time these came due………so there’s that!

Afternoon All. It was 24* when I got up this morning. The ground is white with frost along with all the bare trees white, too. It is very pretty. And, there is some blue sky showing.

My DIL sent 4 pictures out, one of each of the children as newborns. She said to guess who was who. I got two right. The children are almost identical. It is very hard to tell them apart. Her mother gave her a picture of her when she was a newborn, back when the first child was born. My son looked at it and said, I don’t remember taking that picture and it is in black and white. All her babies look just like her when she was born. I am glad they are all so beautiful. (Of course, that last statement was made by the doting grandmother).

Well, I have some things to do today, so I had better move one. Have a great day, even if it rains.

We’ve had pogonip for a few days, but today it’s sleet and frozen rain. Our poor animals!
The word pogonip is a meteorological term used to describe an uncommon occurrence: frozen fog. The word was coined by Native Americans to describe the frozen fogs of fine ice needles that occur in the mountain valleys of the western United States in December. According to Indian tradition, breathing the fog is injurious to the lungs.

Trump-Appointed Judge Halts Removal Of Confederate Monument At Arlington Cemetery

Defend Arlington filed a lawsuit in a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, on Sunday for a temporary restraining order, the AP reported. Work had already begun to remove the bronze elements of the memorial in accordance with recommendations in the Congressionally-mandated Naming Commission’s final report to scrub Department of Defense (DOD) assets of any symbolism that could be seen to honor the Confederacy.
