Afternoon All. In the low 20’s here with heavy frost. Since there has been no snow or rain, the sidewalks are not slick. Thank goodness for that. I worry about little Loki’s feet, but it seems if she keeps moving, which she does, her feet stay warm.
Trying to stay away from the news. It is just dismal. I thought being underObama was really bad. Obiden is much worse. And, I am appalled at the gaslighting he is doing. Or, maybe, he is being directed to do.
Well, try to keep a stiff upper lip.

Her pawpads need to be protected if it’s in the 20s and she’s on concrete, I would think….I forget if you got booties last year….

I did get her booties. It just takes a long time to put them on. I haven’t taken the time if it is over 20*. Guess I will have to be more diligent.

With regard to both babies and animals, I’ve heard it explained this way: “If the conditions (heat or cold) are not something you would expose your bare skin to, theirs’ shouldn’t be exposed to it either.” That cold concrete can literally burn her pads (think frost bite). They are just bare skin, even though a little thicker. If you wouldn’t walk barefoot on that surface—–that’s the guideline—just like hot pavement in the summer.

I think I have empathy. I know I do–because I could list the things I have done all through my life to support and give, both generally and to specific/immediate situations that occurred in front of me….BUT…….
When I read an article like this I think the main problem is along these lines: 1) they wanted to come to the United States 2) they broke the law to do so 3) Now they are suffering the consequences of what they did to get what they wanted 4) If they had not done what they did, they wouldn’t be suffering the consequences of what they did—in the book of Galatians (the good Apostle Paul)….only a couple of verses separate these two statements: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” and then this: “Each man shall bear his own burden”. It’s not either/or. It’s both/and. New York is also suffering the consequences of their own choices. It’s sometimes hard to remember that we as individuals are not responsible for everyone else’s consequences….. (I hate this new format stuff, because I don’t know how it will look when I finish….sorry if it is unreadable)

I want a sweatshirt that just says: they are not migrants they are illegal aliens – probably an invitation to be beaten up or worse – I’m sort of getting to the point where I really don’t care.

Sometimes the choices in life are bad, and a little less bad. Or maybe even all bad.
It is a fallacy in these times to expect that there must always be good choices for us. Sometimes there just isn’t a good choice. And we aren’t owed one, not by individuals or society.
