Mornin’ Lucille! Gatlinburg is a wonderful little place (it used to be little, anyway!) We went there often when we lived in Nashville.

Just a silly tourist trap now, IMO. Beautiful scenery all around, and other things to do, but the town is full of candy shops, mass produced crap, and chain restaurants and hotels, with a few genuine gems stuck in.
However, you drive outside of town in any direction and you are in heaven. One of the most wondrous areas in all the world, I think.
One of my sons’ families just loves it though.

Back in the day we went for the walking/hiking trails and mom ‘n pop diner food. There were a few crap shops but that wasn’t our goal. I’m sure it’s awful, now, and no cool rock shops or nurseries to peruse.

Blasé Day – finally, a rest day after all the busyness we’ve been in this week. The guests are leaving, and you can have your house back like normal. Put up you feet and look out the window for a while.
