We settled on Cornish game hens and a new rice pilaf recipe which SIL will prepare. They are also bringing dessert and cookies.

Yummy…and healthy too! We eat lots of rice in spring/summer and potatos in fall/winter (because our harvest is usually bountiful!).

Did any of ya’z hear this on the Sunday shows? I missed it. Our friends in Louisiana did a clean sweep Saturday on several political races. Seems that at least these top 3 were all backed by 45 and mopped the floor.

In some ways, these positions are as important as the top job. As we’ve seen a couple times where the Guv is Red and the AG is blue and the AG stops something dead in their tracks. We need all the help we can get right now.

Good morning! It’s a bit gray today. Back to housework and laundry for me. The turkey is thawing in the refrigerator. It is supposedly “all natural”; I hope it’s tasty!

Good mornin’, Miss Stella! It looks like we might have what will pass for fall weather on Turkey Day this year. A high of 56* Thursday at Rancho el Gordito. My sweatpants will fit right in on a chilly day like that! 😀 😀 😀

Mornin’ All. 35*, with a clear bright blue sunny sky. All the snow that fell yesterday, evidently melted and there is no ice on the sidewalks this morning.
Looks like I will be healthy for Thanksgiving. I feel so much better today. Got lots to do this week. And, I volunteered to make a green bean casserole and a sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving. Hope I can get the fixing for them.

Yup. Me, too. But, I have to start with fixing my vacuum which makes noise but doesn’t suck (up dirt, that is.)
My family is supposed to come over for a tree decorating party on Sunday. So, I have a lot of cleaning and cooking to do. It was quite a success last year and the girls loved decorating the tree. I had a veggie and dip tray, a cheese and meat tray, egg salad sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches, and deviled eggs. That was a real hit for the children. If that sounds like a lot of food for the 5 of them………it wasn’t. LOL. There was just enough left for me to have a meal the next day.

I have the GGS here all week. So far we put the tropical plants back on the porch, he washed the inside windows, and helped shop and put food away. Lots more tasks for tomorrow and Wednesday.
