      Great! Service dogs are wonderful assets in many areas. Most are not as perilous as this.

      I am aware of the abuse of the “comfort” dog designation. It’s unfortunate because specially-trained service animals can save lives.

      Many years ago my mother was at her monthly church women’s mission society luncheon and somehow they got into a discussion of dogs. My dear Mum stated, “Dogs are better than people.” Shocked, her friends took issue with her statement and tried to “correct” her thinking. But she merely said that it was her studied opinion and they were free to disagree. LOL!

    Dogs…so in-the-moment. He’s not comparing this to long, cold days while deployed; just enjoying a really great-smelling piece of meat!!
