      If I clean my desktop, I will not know where anything is. So – no on that one.

      Coming on to ten years now since Grant died, and I have yet to move any of his tools, small or large, to any different configuration/place. Son and I agree that if I do, we’ll never be able to find what we’re looking for. Our approach is always, “Ok, where did dad keep that?” Almost foolproof…..almost….

      …..except when I moved a couple of the Allen wrenches to a “more visible spot” because I thought it would easier. Nope. They got moved back…..

      Cleaning up the entire computer is ongoing. Running across a gazillion items I don’t even remember retaining…lists of things to do from past years which haven’t been accomplished to date seem to be quite prevalent…and articles from 2008 I’ve kept as evidence to use in discussions on BHO, Hilary and our President from his successful 2016 campaign….all need to be culled. And speaking of our President, this was just sent out: A GAG ORDER HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN IMPOSED ON ME AT THE REQUEST OF JOE BIDEN. WHILE I AM RESTRICTED IN WHAT I CAN SAY RIGHT NOW, HERE IS MY ONE MESSAGE TO THE PUBLIC…MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION CAN TRY AND GAG ME, BUT THEY CAN *NEVER* GAG THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

      Department stores were places of delight when I first moved to Los Angeles in February 1963; National Liqueur Day, I couldn’t even name one. Global Cat Day should have been on the first Caturday of the year. What day isn’t a National Sports Day to diehard fans? World Food Day…living by myself I’ve gotten out of the habit of praying over meals…so this is a good reminder to get back to thanking the Lord for what He provides.

    Afternoon All. Another 40* day, which is just fine. It is somewhat overcast and has warmed up to 55* already. Nice.

    Well, they are now removing the concrete slabs outside my, and my neighbor’s door. They said they might have to take them all out because when they sawed them to remove them, they fell about an inch or two. They could have broken at any time and someone could have gotten hurt. At least they are removing them in slabs instead of using a jackhammer to chop them up to take them out. Still as noisy, but not as unnerving. But, it will be all right. They will probably pour the concrete by this Friday…………or at least next week. 😡 Problem is, we may not be able to walk on it until the concrete dries. The only other way out is the sliding glass door and there is no outside lock on it. They raised the rent and then had to do this. Not happy.

    So, how is your day going?

      They probably raised your rent to pay for the new concrete. Good day, mom! I was just saying to my daughter yesterday that I am so glad that I bought a house and that I have a really small mortgage. These rising rents are outrageous, especially for people on a fixed income.

        In Oregon, property valuation is guaranteed to go up every year, eventually making it difficult for the elderly to afford their homes. There is no state sales tax, but you definitely don’t want to show too much income.

          In Michigan, the increase in taxable value of the “homestead” is constrained to the rate of inflation, and no more than 5% per year. It is a constitutional amendment passed back in 1994. Since I am a senior with low income, I get some of that refunded at the end of the year, when I file my state income tax form. They refer to that as the “circuit breaker” benefit; property taxes can’t exceed 3.5% of income.

            In So. Cal. back in the 70’s they came up with Prop. 13 (I believe it was) and the taxes could only go up a certain amount if you did not sell the house. 15 years later my tax was about $250 and my neighbor’s was $3000. It was to help those people who were losing their homes to taxes.

              Michigan’s law is similar to the one in California. It protects homeowners against gentrification of neighborhoods, particularly those who are low income. The tax is recalculated when the home is sold, and it only applies to the primary residence.

    I’ve been in the courtroom where electronics are not permitted.

    Today is an historical day in political jurisprudence. An activist radical Democratic judge with open hostility to Trump and his lawyers prepared to ban the speech of a presidential candidate during an election. It is unfathomable this is happening in America but it is.

    Jack Smith’s team will likely get a wide ranging gag order preventing Trump and others from using “disparaging” language against potential witnesses in this case, which includes dozens of people.

    Judge Chutkan and DOJ arguing that Trump’s speech could either influence the jury pool (LOL), intimidate witnesses, provoke violence, or all of the above.

    Chutkan is a sneering, preening activist on the bench. She often threw out laugh lines at Trump’s expense to which the courtroom gallery responded as she wanted.

    There was a whole debate as to the appropriateness of Trump saying “Crooked Joe Biden.”

    Jack Smith wants to not just silence Trump, he wants penalties for violations of the gag order including fines or home detention.

    If Chutkan approves most of DOJs gag order, it will apply to Trump, his lawyers, and his campaign associates.

    This is mind blowing to see happen in real time. I’ve seen a lot of crazy things in this courthouse related to Trump and Jan 6, but this takes the cake.

    This is absolutely disgusting. DOJ appealing sentences to Proud Boys. Asking for more prison time. Seems to me that they want to send a message to flyover country. Thoughts?
