I am always amazed how sharp and cragy the southern Andes are. Makes me think they are not eroded, thus are newer mountains, but apparently they are not recent mountains.

Well, this is some list today.

    Sandcastle Day
    International Blues Music Day
National VFR Day – for veterans and first responders needing mental health services
    National Sunflower Day
National Summit Day – the top of mountains it appears from the picture
International Hangover Day – held the day after International Beer Day
    International Traffic Light Day
    National Play Outside Day
National Disc Golf Day – as in Frisbee
National Jamaican Patty Day – sort of a meat pie
    Mead Day
    National Oyster Day
National Work Like a Dog Day
    National Underwear Day
    National Mustard Day

Woke up last night wondering why some days are International, some World, and some have no designation. National Days are proclaimed by Congress I think.

Good Mornin’, czarina! National Summit Day…looks like my mountain post was most appropriate! When looking up the photos for Mt. Elbrus I found that Americans are greatly discouraged from climbing it because of safety and security issues…whatever that means. Visit at your own risk.

This is what one of the guide services, montemlife., has on their website:

“The U.S. State Department actually recommends that citizens completely avoid traveling to the North Caucasus region. In fact, the State Department specifically warns against climbing Mount Elbrus, as doing so requires you to travel through very dangerous areas, which U.S. government employees are not allowed to visit. Afternoon All. It is comfortably warm here and hazy becuse of some forest fires in the area. I can’t even see the mountains anymore. And, the air smells a little smoky where I am. It is much worse down by the fires I am sure.

We did have a t-storm last night that lasted about 45 min. And, we got some rain. The weather guessers chart said no rain, or only 10% rain, but when I checked the chart while it was raining they had changed it to 85% rain. LOL. We are supposed to get some more this afternoon. We will see.

Hope there are no fires in your area and that you have a nice day even if it is hot.

Watching “To Catch A Thief” on YouTube. Grace Kelly was a true beauty. No wonder that her Prince wanted to marry her!
