The Deeper Meaning of Fourth of July

America’s Independence Day—the Fourth of July—is a joyous time to celebrate with family and friends.
But it’s more than just a day of fireworks, burgers on the grill, and time off from work. It’s about remembering our country’s birthday, and the sacrifices of our Founding Fathers to realize the love of freedom which God implanted on the heart of every American.
On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence from Great Britain and its king, and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, the birth certificate of America.
In a letter from John Adams to his wife, Abigail, dated July 3, 1776, Adams referred to that day as “the most memorable epoch in the history of America.”
He continued:
“I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward, forevermore.”
Adams concluded his letter with this stirring paragraph:
“I am well aware of the toil, and blood, and treasure, that it will cost us to maintain this declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet, through all the gloom, I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is more than worth all the means, and that posterity will triumph in that day’s transaction, even although we should rue it, which I trust in God we shall not.”
On This Independence Day, celebrate the birth of our nation, and solemnly resolve to preserve our freedom, just as our Founding Fathers so boldly did over 247 years ago.

When we first moved to ‘the country’, meaning only a few people per square mile, Czar asked the Sheriff what was the response time for a 911 call. Well mostly there were two officers on duty per shift in our area so prioritizing is important. Czar’s interpretation was that we are expected to manage the first 20 minutes to an hour on our own.
This thins out the list of when and what is important to call for. In NO I certainly would have called when a 350# pig showed up on my porch. Here, handle it myself.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Afternoon all. It is in the low 60’s here on my patio and much, much warmer out in the sun. Wonderful!
I plan to go to a party/potluck that this family has every year on the 4th of July with fireworks afterward. I won’t be able to stay for the fireworks because, of course, they will start about the time it gets dark and I don’t drive in the dark. A lot of people will be there.
Well, I hope everyone has a good time and enjoy the fireworks tonight.

Not only does Hunter get super-duper special consideration because he’s Brandon’s son, one of the US attorney’s might just have a bit of a conflict-of-interest issue. I’m sure it’s all innocent. It amazes me of the multitude of incestuous relationships in DC. I’m not sure there could be more than 4-5 people who don’t have these types of “relationships” there.

We’ve been told for years and years that the only way to treat mental illness was with mind-altering psychotropic drugs that do bad things to people, and that “the science was settled”. Well, what if it isn’t, and what if a possible breakthrough might conclude that diet might be part of the cure. Pretty soon, we might find out that pharma has been taking us for a ride for a long, long time. On a lot of things.
