Some interesting ones today:
National Yucatán Shrimp Day – they don’t sell that variety here, just local ones, and imported ones from Vietnam.
National Wyoming Day – any lurkers from Wyoming.
World Schizophrenia Day – I can recognize it but won’t celebrate it, having known people who suffered with it.
National Escargot Day – loved them, all that garlic and butter!
Emergency Services for Children Day (Wednesday of EMS Week) – missed the announcement it was EMS Week. But I also did not let you know it was Better Speech and Hearing Month.
National Scavenger Hunt Day – well as most kids are getting off school this week we could organize some hunts

Remember bike touring in Europe in the early ’70s, we pitched our tent in a grassy campground in Spain and woke up next morning to find a bunch of women gathering snails.
There are some quite good canned ones that are the real deal when prepared properly. We enjoy them on special occasions!!

Afternoon, All. It was raining lightly when I got up this morning. It was 55* and cloudy. I am having a little trouble adjusting to the spring/summer weather here. It can be hot one day and cool the next. I’m not complaining , but I was used to being in summer clothes for all spring/summer. I just need to adjust to this switching back and forth.

Good afternoon, aus! It’s sorta sunny here but only 70 degrees as a high. It is quite cool in the apartment but I absolutely will not turn on the heat. I don’t want to think of heaters until the end of October.

What started as a wonderful trip with family and friends turned into a bloody nightmare. Victoria White was nearly killed by DC police officers during the rally. The police officers, led by Officer Jason Bagshaw beat her in the face and shoulders nearly 40 times with sticks and their fists. Then they dragged her through the US Capitol shoeless and forced her to wait outside without a phone, a coat, or a ride after they released her hours later.

Democrats returned to St. Paul in January with a $17.5 billion surplus and total control of state government, which hinges on their one-seat majority in the Senate that was decided by just a few hundred votes.
One dissenting voice would have been enough to derail their entire agenda. Instead, swing-district senators were reliable green votes on every major piece of legislation.
