Good afternoon, Wee! Wish I were recuperating on the Table Mountain view of Cape Town beach. I’m exhausted. Having family visit is terrific and staying up half the night talking is fun. But I’m not up to walking around everywhere seeing the sights anymore. My nephew left at 6:00 AM today and after goodbyes, I went back to slumberland.

After seeing all the artistically planted beds of tulips it is startling to see them scattered loosely on a wild hillside!

Looks like the last two non-humid days with not-too-bad temps until next October. Going to do some mowing at the edge of the lake, and brush killing with triple strength liquid if the wind abates.

You know weeds are mostly just plants in places where we don’t want them. (Poison ivy excluded.) In Miami periwinkles were volunteers no one would think of planting in a garden. In NO they are called vinca and people pay money to get them at garden centers then carefully place them around their houses…

This is crazy and very sad. I might also say it is indicative of what is going on in some sections of the population.

This is exactly what is simmering throughout the population….it’s been cooking there since the ’90s, but now coming to full harvest.

I can’t tell if she’s still too drunk/drugged to comprehend, or if she is perhaps otherwise impaired. Maybe she’s one of those who was passed from grade to grade without having to take the tests. She reminds me of the developmentally delayed people I worked with most of my life. But the lawyer would have got her off with no sentence if she were.

Wow! Yes, they do walk among us…the thoroughly self-centered, the careless, the heartless, the psychopaths, those for whom truthful interaction and communication are impossible. And all she got for taking the lives of 2 people is 14 years! That’s a crime in itself.

I still think of how remarkable it was that the last photograph of Queen Elizabeth that was publicly released was just a couple of days before she died. She was on her feet, doing her duty, greeting people, fully competent.

I remember she had some kind of bruising and discoloration on her hands and wrists that was like the beginning of things failing….but there she was–as always. Remarkable, remarkable woman.
