Mornin’ y’all! Copied this one from the FB –

“When NASA was preparing for the Apollo moon landings in the late fall of 60 and early fall of 70, they did some astronaut training along the Navajo Indian reservation in SW. One day, a Navajo elder and his grandson were herding animals and came across the space crew. The old man, who spoke only Navajo, asked a question, which the grandchildren translated: “What are those men in suits doing?” One crew member said they were training for a trip to the moon. ‘ Then, recognizing a promotion opportunity for rotary-doctors, added, ‘We’ll leave a special record with greetings in multiple languages and the like. Would the old man be interested in giving us a greeting to include? ”
After the translation, the old man got really excited and excited with the idea of sending a message to the moon with the astronauts. The people of NASA produced a tape recorder and the old man recorded his messages that the grandchildren resisted the urge to laugh… but he refused the service.
After Apollo 11 successfully landed on the Moon and brought home its astronauts, a new team trained in the desert when one of the NASA officials recognized the Navajo elder and his grandson. grandfather. He and went to tell them that the old man’s message was indeed on the moon that was seen with laughter.
In the end, the NASA representative discovered that not all was as simple as he had thought and requested a translation. With a laugh, the young man replied, “Beware of the whites, they come to rob your land!”

Good morning everybody! I feel a bit like that little bird up at the top. It’s finally sunny today, but still cold – 35° at the moment.

    It’s the squirrels, folks:

“President Biden, his administration, and Democrats in Congress have insisted that ‘assault weapons’ be banned, even though the term is only a buzzword that Biden’s own ATF director — and likely Biden himself — can’t define. That’s because anything can be an assault weapon. A rock, a rifle, a handgun, a person’s fist, a squirrel swung with enough velocity. “

Mornin’ All. It is 37*, above 0*, and overcast.

Met my new doctor yesterday. She is so nice and I really like her. I noticed she has the same last name as my dentist. I wonder if they are married. To each other. Everybody in that office was very nice.

I also had time to do my laundry. It was funny. I had to wait a few minutes on some washing machines and other people were coming in and it was so busy. Then when my things came out of the dryer, there was almost no-one around. I slept well last night.

Anyway, hope you all are safe and have a nice day.

Afternoon. It’s 36° and spitting snow at the moment. We had a dam up north fail during the night, but a dam lower down held, so flood levels remain about the same today.

The ranchers in the county have now moved all the cattle along the creek and river beds to spring/summer pastures out of the flood zone and they’ll be safe regardless of any further flooding.

The farmers in the county are getting antsy to get into the fields so the spring seeding cycle should kick off here fairly soon.

And I’m just ready for some warm weather.

What are they planting, ‘maus? Wheat? All our neighbors grow alfalfa but can’t get into their fields yet (or risk losing a tractor). Alfalfa grows back each year but still needs to be ‘groomed’ in the spring. Roundup ready…makes me nervous. Jury’s out on that issue.

Afternoon weather…A majority of the planting will be spring wheat, but they’ll also be seeding for flax, peas, garbanzo beans, mustard seed, oats, & barley.

A number of the rancher/farmers here also maintain fields of alfalfa.

My DH ran an agricultural chemical reactor for fifteen years, and some of the chemicals being used in the agricultural industry are far, far worse than those found in Roundup. I’m not a big fan of Roundup, simply because I don’t think it works well,
