Good morning everybody! Crazy weather continues. 34° and a bit of snow today. I can see it on the rooftops, but it isn’t sticking much on the grass.

Among the hundreds of things I had to do after Czar died, I should have changed my IRS filing status to single. Today I paid (dearly) the difference between old status of married filing jointly and single. I know I would have paid the same total amount, but a portion every month seems less…

Good day, Wee! For a laugh I looked up the info on the IRS logo/seal. The one seen in this cartoon is….

“The very first emblem, designed for the governmental agency, appeared in 1862 and was executed in bold black lines, with the graphical part placed above the elegant and strict serif lettering. Over the years, the color palette got the second option, and today the iconic badge can be seen both in black-and-white and in white-on-blue palettes.

“The IRS badge depicts a stylized eagle, which holds the scales in its beak, and is accompanied by a vertically placed spike on the left. The badge is internationally known as ‘The IRS Eagle’.”

Now for the guffaw, CHECK OUT THIS PHONY BIT: “The IRS Eagle itself represents the United States. The scales of justice instill the idea that the Service’s operations will be conducted in a fair and honest way. The decorative olive branch fills out the left side of the symbol and represents peace and conciliation.”

Mmmm, no mention of the weaponization of the group which “represents peace and conciliation.” Ah-mazing!

Afternoon All. Well, it snowed again last night. There is about an inch on the ground. I have a Dr. appt in a couple of hours. I sure hope they have had time to clear off the road I have to go down. It is a long hill with a left turn at the bottom in heavy traffic.

Brings back memories of when I had to drive the VW bug, standard shift of course, and needed to make a left turn across traffic. I sat and cried every day at that turn which was on a very slight incline because I always had to stop and balance the gas pedal and clutch and had so much trouble doing it. I eventually learned and got good at it, but those first days were hard.

Well, my DIL told me it snowed last year in June, so that is normal here, I guess. Hope you all have a nice day.

We’ve heard it can snow any day of the year here – probably there too, I’d imagine. The roads are pretty much warmed up now, so your risk of skidding is low even with snow and cold, mom.
You reminded me I learned to drive in a 1950 Ford 4-door; my Dad took me to a small hill one day and made me do the clutch/gas thing ’till I learned how. What a wonderful and wise man!

Still in the 40s here in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, every day – and raining every day. We had sloppy snow a couple of days ago. I’m sick of it.

Majority of illegal immigrants using Biden’s mobile app released into US interior
    AMERICAN NEWS Apr 18, 2023

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said at a Senate hearing in March that the app is “like a concierge service for illegal immigrants.”
