Afternoon All. It is 37*, blue skies and sunny today. I am finally feeling alive again. I also lost about 7 lbs. I don’t recommend it. Loki started acting sickly yesterday and I got really worried about her. I started to give her some Pepsi Bismal before we went to bed, but she finally decided to eat. She was so quiet in her sleep last night I worried about her, but after the sun came up, she jumped up in bed like normal. Now she is all perky and happy and rushed in to finish her food and seems just fine. Wish I could bounce back so quickly.

Well, all you all stay healthy.

Probably. I read that you can show symptoms 1 to 3 days after exposure and an adult can be contagious for days after symptoms subside, but children may be contagious for 2 to 3 weeks. YIKES! No wonder it spreads so badly in the young. I was at their house on Sunday and started feeling nauseous about 6:00 Monday.

Good day, aus! Glad you’re feeling better…and Loki, too!

It’s sorta overcast and 40 degrees heading to 50. No rain but we do have same predicted for next week plus snow…aaagggghhhhh! Hopefully it will just rain. One more snow flake and I just might rebel.

Oh Lucille, I am so with you on that! We’ve had snow every day this week and I’m just about gosh darn SICK of it! C’mon already. It’s mid April and time to quit this nonsense! We’ve still got over a foot of snow on the ground, despite a lot of melting. This week we celebrate the first time our low temps will be above freezing. Yay Spring. Now a little green would be nice (that isn’t fir, cedar or spruce trees.

Here’s the news from Hillsboro (part of Portland OR on the west side) that no one should respond to with the thought, “Oh, that is unbelievable.”

    https://www.kptv.com/2023/04/13/patient-left-hours-hallway-overcrowded-hillsboro-er-mistakenly-sent-home-with-iv/

The hospital’s observation in one of their letters to the patient: “We understand clearly that our care did not meet your expectations regarding personal privacy, while care was delivered, pain control and discharge with your IV in place.” A question for the hospital: Did it meet YOUR expectations?? Please share. But they DO remain “committed” to a high standard of care…so there’s that.

Someone should have advised her to stop corresponding with the hospital and sue them for incompetence and neglect.

Does the medical industry understand what the the new level of our expectations is where they are concerned? I hope they do, but I doubt it. It appears from their letter to her that they are still in the stage of “I apologize if you were offended.”

We all have medical professionals we know personally who are competent and giving-to-a-fault. Unfortunately, most of them are not in charge of how things are done. They’re like my grandson, a Staff Sgt in the army, who is the exception to the general rot….and without authority regarding policies, procedure, and protocols.

Hi, Sharon! Oh, the poor woman. I know hospital personnel are overworked and overstressed, but this was truly terrible. And no one to give her care or concern even to walk her to a taxi or out the door? Hiring even one additional orderly would give some relief.

I’m wondering since Oregon is an immigration sanctuary state whether the hospital is overwhelmed taking care of illegal aliens.

By Joe Hoft Apr. 13, 2023 12:00 pm

Shouldn’t Mayorkas be in prison for creating this trail in another country for the sole purpose of evading US laws in the first place?
