Have you ever heard of the IRS visiting a taxpayer’s home to help them out? Seems to be a clear effort to intimidate a Congressional witness on the VERY DAY that he is testifying before Congress.
According to the New York Post:
An IRS agent stopped by the home of Twitter Files journalist Matt Taibbi the same day of his congressional testimony on the weaponization of the government, according to House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, who’s demanding an explanation over the oddly timed visit.
Jordan sent a letter to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel and the Department of Treasury on Monday in hopes of getting to the bottom of why the federal agent appeared at Taibbi’s New Jersey home on March 9 and left a note, according to an editorial in The Wall Street Journal that cited the letter. The note reportedly instructed Taibbi to call the IRS four days later. When he did, an agent told him his 2018 and 2021 tax returns had both been rejected due to identity theft concerns.
Fox video coverage:
What amazes me is that they are so blatant about what they are doing.

Where is Congress on this? Where are the Republicans? W.T.F. Mitch, cat got your tongue? What are these Congress critters doing besides collecting a paycheck? They don’t even make rules anymore! They’re getting to be nothing more than a pimple on my@$$!

From the article, Jordan has written to the IRS inquiring about this matter. What the IRS did isn’t illegal, but it certainly is suspicious.

I remember Ms. Lyndsey writing letters, nothing gets done or happens! Words are cheap when not backed up!

Since Lindsay Graham is in the Senate, not the House, this particular incident isn’t related to him. You asked what Congress was doing about this, and I answered you. Not much else that CAN be done, since the IRS did nothing illegal. They visited his house and left a letter for him. Their motives are suspect, but their actions were legal.

My point being nothing happened. I care less who wrote the letter. As far as I’m concerned it was deposited in the “dead letter box”!

Again, since the IRS did nothing that was illegal, what do you suggest should be done?

Something more than nothing. Baby steps are what they’re taking and should be called out. Doing nothing encourages slightly larger steps, then they really get bold and the precedent has been set. Let that camel stick his nose in the tent and he will own that tent! By the time you realize what is happening, it will be too late to respond correctly. NIP IT THE BUD!

Absolutely with you Pa…publicity doesn’t sting like facing prison time or a thorough inquest, at the very least. This was totally contrived; the top brass needs to feel the heat!!

I am as angry as you and Pa are, but you can’t put someone in prison if they haven’t broken any laws.
Tennessee Senator Hagerty is threatening to withhold funds from Treasury over the incident.

It has been called out, which is why you are reading about it here, or on Twitter, YouTube, Fox and many other places.

I remember the FIB going to Mar-a-Lago and Mitch was silent!

How about a balloon gathering intel on our military bases, and Mitch is silent. Are there enough dots to connect to tell us what side he plays on?
