30 Easy Taco Recipes You’re Going To Love

Our beef birria quesatacos rely on three different types of chilis and spices (like sweet cinnamon—trust us, it works!) to get their flavor.

Many people are unaware that Caesar (actually Cezar) salad originated just south of the border in MX; not Italy. Back in the late forties, a car load of celebrities stopped at a restaurant in (IIRC) Encinada at about 8-9 PM. The restarateur was closing and was pretty much out of food, having been open since breakfast. But the carload of hungry customers begged, then prevailed and Cezar made a meal out of all the left overs, including anchovies, and served up a huge salad to feed the crowd. It is not Caesar salad as posted almost everywhere.

I did know that. There is nothing Italian about that dressing!

Hi, Geoff! Here’s another version of the story….

Whatever the correct attribution, it’s a very tasty salad.

Nuclear stress test today. Had to get up at 6 (yes it was still dark) to get here by 7:30. Currently drinking 8 oz water while waiting for radioactive dye to circulate.

First set of CT scan pictures taken of my heart. Now waiting for treadmill test.

Good luck. I hated the treadmill test.

When I did that test, I got to the point I could hardly breathe and almost fell down. I looked back at the guy running he test and he had this look of horror on his face. I said, “My heart must be really bad”, and he said “No, I made a mistake and set the test twice as high as it was supposed to be. You have a very strong heart.”

In my case, it was my knees that gave out, rather than my heart, and I’ve had a heart attack in the past!

Nothing other than short of breath when climbing a flight of stairs.

Good afternoon, Czarina! Hope all is well and the test proves your heart is ticking just fine.
The first time I had one of those tests was also the first time I ever had to sign a form which indicated a possible side effect of a procedure is death. I went back to the receptionist and said, “What’s this?” “Oh, it’s just the authorization form.” “Yeah, it says I could die.” Blah, blah, blah, from her. I then told her the lab just didn’t want to get sued by my family if I should die while being scanned. Since she couldn’t refute that, she just merely said the form had to be signed or the scan could not be done. LOL! I’m such a bad patient.

Afternoon, All. 38* and overcast. The humidity must be up some, it feels fairly warm this morning and there is no breeze. It looked like a cold front or storm coming toward us from the west, but they rarely make it to us, so I doubt this one will.
Not much news today. I have a dentist appt. this afternoon, but nothing other than that. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi everybody! The sun just appeared for the first time today, and it’s 51 degrees! Snow is melting. Wish that winter was over, but no such luck.

According to Republican congress members Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has agreed to release all of the January 6 footage as Democrats have tried to shield its release.
“The American people deserve to know the truth about what happened on January 6th. We have demanded to see all the footage. Transparency is coming,” Gaetz said. “Every time from the JFK files to 9/11, to now January 6th. It’s our own government, our own Department of Justice that seems to stand in the way of transparency.”
He also called for CSPAN cameras on the House floor.

Food We Fight About: Anchovies
Just make sure you’re eating the good ones. “People hate anchovies because they have never tried a quality anchovy fished from the Atlantic rather than the Mediterranean,” says Frank Camorra, chef and owner of Movida. “The Atlantic anchovies are plumper, with a higher fat content, making them much firmer in texture and more delicious, as well as less salty.”
