Mornin’ Wee and all ya’all! Great morning here: sunny, coldish, no wind.
Got the GGS this weekend. He wants to work on the property to earn money so he can go to the Junior ROTC Ball at the Golden Nugget Casino with all the other groups (tribes? Troops? What is a collection of them called?). Anyway, he needs $40 for the tickets for himself and his date, and another $10 for incidentals. (Corsage?).
Took him to Dillards to buy a button-down-collared white shirt last night. In the Men’s department we were greeted by a very proper associate who explained how he would measure neck and sleeve, introduced him to different types of material, how to don and doff the shirt, steam pressed the folds out and put it in a hanging bag. It was a little pricey, but well worth the experience GGS got for his first purchase of important clothing! I fear the kid has only had t-shirts and hoodies all his life.
He pulled at the buttoned collar and said it seemed tight, but the man re-checked and said it was correct. I said GGS will learn this is how shirts will fit for the rest of his life, and men always have that complaint.

How wonderful you were there with him, to help him learn. The Dillard’s sales associate was also skilled. Glad he took the time to help a young man transition into a new style of clothing.
Not many stores have that kind of service. I’ll keep that in mind when shopping.

It’s down into the negative temperatures (-5) today and supposed to get colder so it looks like our “frozen” is gonna stick around for a while…Stay warm aus.

Afternoon All. It snowed most of the day yesterday and a lot through the night. I think we only got about an inch of snow here. It was either 11* or 17* this morning. I couldn’t read the thermometer. Doesn’t seem to make much difference. It was a little breezy when we went out and it felt……… cold!………imagine! It is overcast white and is a very bright day. Supposedly clear skies are coming soon. 🙂
Not much other news. I hope the wet weather lets up where you are. Have a nice day.
